Wouldn't that imply the level of play is higher in the Turkish League?

Not really. NBL is geared towards guard play. Euro generally isn't.
In other notes, Chris Goulding jersey at $75 for replica is a bit pricey, but if I was a bit drunk I'll buy one for nostalgia value & to wear it in front of Ben (dragon)
https://shopdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=Product&ProductID=22686&OrgID=5202Seriously though, if it was stitched (I hate iron-on craplica) numbers etc then I'd buy it, such is my dedication to the Goulding Army of One

Sorry, I meant the NBA and Turkish League.
Sat Nov 12, 2011 1:12 am
Similar thing. NBA is currently geared towards guard/swingman isolation/dribble drive penetration whereas Euro is more running your motion, using your full shot clock, etc. Individual, athletic/skilled brilliance can generally be lost more easily in the Euro & international game.
I think it does illustrate that players should always try to find a system that matches their strengths and playing style. As we know, that doesn't happen. Partially due to money & the other reason is that coaches/systems change so regularly, it's crapshoot for the players.

True. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some degree of apathy on his part.
Sat Nov 12, 2011 1:17 am
Couldn't argue with that, given it's clearly just a gapfill for him rather than what he considers his career. It's almost like going overseas and working a bar job. You don't really care about it, it's mostly just for money.

There seems to be some sort of limited availability of replicas, if anyone's interested. $80, cutoff for orders is Nov. 28. Email
fastbreak@fiddes.com.au.

Who would pay $80 to rep an NBL jersey.
Anyone see that dude play the other night? I can't remember his name, or what team he played for (lol), but he was really good. Commentator said he was a streetball legend in NY? Don't know how true that is but wouldn't be surprised based on how he played. All of his plays were spectacular.
I think his name was Deleon?
Edit: Yeh Andris Deleon is him. This dude will rip up the NBL.
Edit #2:
Fake niggaz help you recognize the real niggaz

I would, if it was a Chris Goulding stitched on jersey. Cult classic

Wildcats aren't making theirs available anyway, because they're not red (they do the whole trying to get the whole crowd wearing the same color thing, but don't have the money to put shirts on seats). They refuse to sell any non-red merch for that reason, too. So I've decided I won't be wearing red in the future, in order to protest their decision.
Probably needs a few more people on board to actually work, though.

If you mention that a player is good at streetball you post a vid of him in streetball, which I would gladly do for you Nick. His street nick is
2 Hard 2 Guard.

Good news fellow Chris Goulding fans, you can watch live NBL on that site listed in NCAA thread.
http://www.firstrowsports.tv/sport/basketball.htmlI'm watching Blaze vs Crocs right now. Goulding owns!!!

EDIT: If anybody is up at 2am Sunday morning AEST, I suggest checking out Adam Morrison playing for Red Star Belgrade.

Goulding is a flopping piece of shit. So much for that being a point of emphasis...

That's no way to speak of the closest thing Australia has to Sasha Vujacic

And I saw that tweet as well. It at least had me curious enough to start following @NBL .

Patty Mills has left the Tigers to play in China.
Sun Nov 20, 2011 6:54 pm
That certainly caught my attention as well.
Sun Nov 20, 2011 7:35 pm
Damn. Oh well, atleast he helped put NBL back on the map a bit.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:53 pm
It appears I was wrong. Patty Mills has left the Tigers to train in China. With no NBA out clause, even (not that that's likely to matter, to be fair). Tigers are screwed short-term, Boomers are going to be screwed long-term, as Mills reverts to jacking up shitty threes, which by all accounts is what goes on over there, and the Tigers, who only have 400 season members, are about to experience a massive drop in numbers.
One wonders why he even had a CBA out clause in his contract.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 2:11 pm
The Tigers will be better off than they were before mills arrived, in terms of tickets and fans.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 2:33 pm
How so? They're no better off now, with Mills, than they were last year. They got one sellout. That's it. Other than that, crowd numbers were the same as they have been for years, and with Mills gone I'd imagine interest will drop.
Wonder if the guys who took a pay cut so he could be on the team will get some of their money back.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 6:07 pm
Mills got people interested and watching again, which in turn gets people familiar with the teams and the players. Just because he's gone doesn't mean everybody who started watching will stop.
Mon Nov 21, 2011 6:57 pm
A number will. A number dropped off in week three or so, once they realised he wasn't a superstar.
