Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

if i were the nuggets i would offer lawson or billups to NJ or Charlotte.
billups would be the most logical to go to nj due to his contract.
lawson would be back in his college area if went to Charlotte. he would be an instant fan favorite.
come on jordan you know you want to do this!

except murphy cant be traded unless waived like it says on that little no logo

So yeah...I think NJ are idiots if they do this (you get a number 3 pick and you're just like..nah no thanks for a possesion black hole like melo?) but denver and Utah dont come off half bad.

Why would Nuggets want to do that? They will be getting a great deal in Favors, AK47 & draft picks for Melo. I say keep the PG's. Why give them away?!? :?

take a closer look at that "no" it states that teams cannot reacquire a player they traded during a given season unless that player was waived. Murphy has never played for utah that i know of. ;)

Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

Why would Utah deal Jefferson who they just acquired for Troy Murphy? Why would the Nuggets give up two great PGs for Ronnie Price? Why would the Nuggets trade four of their five best players and get back nobody even close in talent?

how about this one?
Harris for Augustin is being discussed.
I also want lawson in charlotte.
and nj would need a pf.

Good for you?

Denver's not trading their PG of the future for nothing. Especially not also including their top quality backup big.

About that...

It's most likely happening. Devin Harris may be coming to Charlotte.

Oh, yeah, and some guy called Carmelo Anthony is also involved.

Stop playing with the trade machine puttin. Having your trade ideas accepted there doesn't make you Pat Riley.

puttincomputers,
As much as I like the trades for Charlotte, you've fucking screwed over Denver horrendously in both trades. The first one says -26 wins for Denver. Bad. :shake:

hey z02. have you tried doing a trade with just the guys in the article? it does not work mathematically.

Don't forget there will likely be throw-ins plus cash considerations plus trade exceptions used in this deal

I can't. For some reason the "Try This Trade" button does nothing on my computer. It used to but now it doesn't. :?: But it will work out. There's plenty of cash and draft picks involved in this thing.

I'd prefer Iguodala-Turner over Melo-Turner. Iggy has been a second option in the past and I hope that Turner will take over the go-to-man role there but with Melo, I don't see that happening soon.

Thought that rumour was dead. Guess the door has been left open by the New Jersey deal stalling a bit.

Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

I don't see Turner being a first option type of player through out his career. He's probably more suited and effective as a second option, while Iggy is more effective as a 3rd option at best.

I'am not good to supose or predict some thing, but can Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul ending in Orlando? Or Magic cannot have cap space to make this move?

Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

Sun Dec 12, 2010 1:08 pm

The Magic currently aren't set to have any cap room in the upcoming offseason unless Pietrus opts out and they don't pick up the final year of Carter's contract. Even then, it's only a few million so unless Melo's willing to take a huge paycut it would have to be a sign and trade. Paul isn't a free agent this offseason so the only way he's leaving the Hornets is via a trade.

Rukawa_11, you must be on drugs or soemthing

Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

It is possible via trades, highly unlikely, but possible.

Re: Anthony, Nuggets look ready to part ways

Mon Dec 13, 2010 3:26 am

Only thing I can think of is Orlando would have to trade Dwight. My thoughts are Quentin Richardson, Vince Carter, and Jameer Nelson for Carmelo plus a couple scrubs and draft picks and then trade Dwight to New Orleans for Chris Paul.

It would be stupid though.

No way was Gilbert going to trade LeBron during this time, but let this be a future lesson to all owners: When your superstar refuses an extension (cough, Carmelo Anthony, cough), he's telling you he wants out. And you need to put your franchise first, so don't wait until his walk year to explore your options. By then, it's too late.

Makes me wonder if the Nuggets will just lose him or get something in return.
