don't worry Jugs, the Blazers are not stupid enough to trade away Randolph (or Aldridge for that matter)....

even if they did trade away Kyrptonite :(

Good attitude with a bit less talent > Bad attitude with more talent

I hope Randolph's gone, and so does Kevin Pritchard. :D

from reading a few things around the Web, it seems like Randolph is being shopped....it might be a situation like the Cavs trading Ricky Davis as he is bad influence on Lebron....I'm guessing they fill the SF spot with any trade that is made....one question though, where does Darius Miles fit into the picture? Traded to NY or somewhere for whatever they can get or what?

Bandwagoning, IMO, is more people who have a new favorite team just based on who's doing well at the moment.

If someone has been a die hard Bucks fan for 10 years living in Nigeria, more power to them.

i agree that you dont have to live in the city/state to be a die hard fan but, and this is where i might get yelled at a bit, i feel if you live in a city or state with a team(i say state for those states with 1 team) then that team is your team, like it or not. i hated seeing people in boston go on and on about being bulls fans, the suddenly they were laker fans. if you grow up in a city with a pro team then thats your team end of story.

Yeah, I remember that coming up in another thread and I completely agree. I actually don't see how people can go for teams in other cities unless a) their city doesn't have a team or b) the league is in another country.

I've always been fans of every hometeam for all the sports here, it's just natural.

yup, even when times are bad(being a redsox fan was not much fun for the longest time)

/agree

I have lived in Århus, the second largest city in Denmark, for two years now. Our professional soccer team just moved down to the second best league last year (it happens when you finish as one of the two worst teams), but the station attendance hasn't fallen at all. There are still 15000 drunk soccer fans at the sation every week, which is the third highest number of ANY team in Denmark, all leagues included. Being a new "århusianer", I have actually started liking the team because of that fan attitude, even though my old home team from Odense is near the top of the best league now.

I just read that one of the guys from DraftExpress reported 2 HOF calibre players from the western conference have been offered for the #1 pick. The Nuggets allegedly offered Carmelo Anthony and were declined. Now you TrailBlazer fans know what you got on your hands in Oden.

Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:05 pm

^How reliable is that site? Melo for Oden seems absurd.

Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:19 pm

In which way?

RealGM forums are full of bullshit, but there are some really good sources. Another thing I agther from reading the forums is RJ is possibly going to be that SF the Blazers need. What do the Nets need? Post play. Z-Bo on the move?

Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:22 pm

I know Oden is already being compared to some of the best centers of all time but seriously, trade Melo for him? Are they rebuilding?

Sun Jun 10, 2007 5:24 pm

Melo (along with T-Mac) is my favorite player in the league and I wouldn't hesitate to trade him for Oden, rebuilding or not.

I'm just wondering who the other player offered was. Garnett?

I could guarantee that one of the two was Garnett....I wouldn't call Melo a definite Western HOF player....I think the two players offered were Garnett from Wolves & Iverson from Nuggets....those two make more sense than a Melo offer....

I wouldn't pull the trigger just yet.

Melo is a vicious scorer (perhaps better than anyone not named Kobe?) and his game is constantly making strides. He'll probably never be a great defender but his impact on the game will always be significant.

We still don't know what Oden really is. Granted, i would not hesitate to trade KG, Amare, JO or the like for him.

Sun Jun 10, 2007 8:32 pm

I would trade away KG for Oden, because he is old and Oden is a great player and will achieve more for his team than KG has ever done, although the Timberwolves are shit so that is a good reason why KG never got a championship.

Also, how many MVP awards (if any) will Oden get throughout his career?

I reckon he will get 2.

Sun Jun 10, 2007 9:51 pm

How the fuck is Randolph a bad influence on Oden when Oden isnt even on the team yet!

edit: ya random

Anyways, Oden is going to need SOMEONE to practice defending in practice.

I agree on Melo's scoring game, I do think he's the 2nd best in the league (and thats all without a 3 point shot. If he develops it, look out), but in todays NBA where almost every team seems to be geared towards offence, I would take Oden. The Cavs play defence, the Spurs play defence. Where are they now? NBA Finals. If it wasn't the Cavs, it would of been the Pistons, who also play defence. Teams like Golden State, Denver and Phoenix are at home watching the finals, and they all lack defence.

Greg Oden could become a more athletic Tim Duncan with a little less offence and a little more defence. If teams are offering these crazy deals already, I would say Greg is going to be very, very good.

Ricky Davis is on the Cavs? Thought he was on the Timberwolves. ;)

Darius Miles seems as good as dead to the Blazers. Buzz around town is that his knee or whatever is ruined anyway, some seem to think retirement is a real possibility. But even if he does get better, it seems the team is just going to let him rot. Which I agree with.

As far as a Randolph trade, I think they could get a bit more than a Ricky Davis type... especially considering they want to IMPROVE the team's attitude. :P

Kobe+Bynum for Oden+Randolph+Roy and all the crap in the world.

what do you think blazer fans?

Ricky Davis was with the Cavs with LeBron. LeBron was drafted by Cleveland so they'll have someone pass the ball to Ricky to increase Ricky's scoring.

No No. Kobe is getting old and Roy and Oden are 2 great players. We already know how good Roy can play in the NBA, but I don't have many doubts that Oden will be good either. I reject that trade.

Btw, I didn't mention Randolph because he doesn't matter when it comes to Roy, Oden and Kobe. Also Bynum just plain sucks, so yeah....

Wed Jun 13, 2007 4:47 pm

I wouldn't come into conclusion that quick.
Maybe we'll see 5 years from now if he shoots sky hooks against Oden. (And Oden blocking them)

Haha, Oden will just grab them out of the sky, give it to Roy, then back to Oden for the slam. That's our game plan vs Lakers

Wed Jun 13, 2007 5:21 pm

Oden isn't Tyrus Thomas fast.
(Blocking shots then finishing the fastbreak which he started)
By the time Oden gets in the post, KG will already be there.

Wed Jun 13, 2007 6:12 pm

Ok then, you win.

But still, he is going to be a great defensive presence!

Aha. I see- the person I was quoting just used bad grammar ('is' instead of 'was'), making me think they were implying he was currently on the Cavs. :)

I'm sick of the Conley trade talks. The Blazers dont need him.

Especially Steve Blake, Steve Blake is the biggest douche in the universe. I'm sick of the "i'm a freakin' genius because I think we need to sign Blake with MLE"

Even worse is people wanting to sign Kapono because he'll be the Blazers answer at SF.

SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT KAPONO I DONT CARE IF HE SHOT 300 3PTERS AND MADE 270!
