Cy, you said you wanted assists. Hows about this trade:

Luke Ridnour - 15.5 PPG 2.9RPG 6.5APG 59%FG 58%3PT

For

Josh Howard - 16.3 PPG 3.3 RPG 1.7 APG 49%FG 30%3PT

Reason: I'm killing in assists, but I need better rebounding. I know Howard should go for around 6 per this season with a couple of offensive boards, exactly what I'm looking for. Luke Ridnour can hit the three ball, pass, and has been a pretty good scorer this season. What do you say?

Fri Nov 24, 2006 10:38 am

I'd probably take it when Ridnour was averaging over 8 apg early into the season, but 6.5 assists is a little low for my liking. I'll think about it if there's not many offers, but Josh Howard's my big backup, and having Ridnour in with Deron and Cassell just crowds the PG position.

Fri Nov 24, 2006 2:32 pm

True, but if you need assists so bad, you would have Deron Williams and Ridnour who are big on the assists and you can trade away Cassell for someone else (or even cut him and sign someone, theres plenty of talent down there, I just got Ricky Davis). I think Ridnour should go for 8 apg once we get deeper in, I mean his apg per season have gone like this - 2.5 5.9 7.0

He only played 2 more mins a game in the season when he averaged 7 compared to the season when he averaged 5.9, now he's getting an extra 3 mins per game this season, plus his skill level and status on the team is rising, so 8 is probably a likely guess.

I can wait as long as you need, but if something happens to Baron, I'l have to call it off.

Yes, I know, double post.

I just thought I would analyze my team, the team that I am really happy with at the moment despite my record.

First off, My recent moves. I dealt Mike Miller and Luke Ridnour to Cy for Josh Howard and Sam Cassell. I did lose alot of 3 point shooting with those guys but I needed the good rebounding of Josh Howard, plus I got a sturdy vet in return. Before I did this trade, I dropped Jamal Crawford and picked up Ricky Davis, and dropped Andrew Bynum and picked up Andris Biedrins.

Biedrins has been killing in rebounding and blocks as of late, the major drawbacks of my team. Assists have been a plenty so far for my team, plus with Davis injured I decided to pull him out and try my luck with Biedrins this week. I always seem to fall short in OREB, REB, BLK and 3PTM. Without Davis, I lost a few threes here and there, but as Kobe regains his form and Jefferson returning I figured i should be OK.

I figure I should be in the running to win PTS, FGM, FT% and AST every week with my current team, and FG% being more of a chance thing. As I said earlier, I was desperate for rebounding and blocks. Andris Biedrins has been a pleasent suprise. He is a rebounding and shot blocking machine (9.8 RPG, 3.4 OFF, 2.6 BLK), fixing both problems for me, but then remember he shoots 68% from the field. He doesn't shoot the FT very well, but because the rest of my team does so well and he shoots minimal free throws anyway, that should be fine.

I'm very happy with my team right now, and I seriously think the only category each week that I will have alot of problems winning is TO and 3PTM.

Take a look at my starters this week and their respective strengths:

PG: Chauncey Billups - 3PTM, FT%, AST

SG: Kobe Bryant - FGM, FT%, PTS, STL, 3PTM

SF: Richard Jefferson - REB, PTS, FG%

PF: Zach Randolph - PTS, FT%, OREB, REB, FGM

C: Amare Stoudemire - FG%, PTS, BLK, FGM, REB

Util: Andris Biedrins - BLK, OREB, REB, FG%

Now I might be overexcited, but I am really happy with this team and IMO things should be on the rise for me. I'm also pretty happy with my bench, alot of these guys could contribute in big ways if I was to have a injury to one of my stars.

Bench:

PG: Baron Davis

SG/SF: Ricky Davis

SG/SF: Josh Howard

PG: Sam Cassell

EDIT: Andris Biedrins tonight against SA - 18pts, 14rbs (4off), 4 ast, 5blk, 1stl, 2-2ft, 8-14fg, 0 turnovers

EDIT2: Just checked the official box score, he had 15rbs, 6blks and 1 turnover.

looks like tha Baron/Z trade worked out... Z's starting to return to form and Baron's, well, returning back to form on the injured list

Baron is all points, turnovers, assists. 3 things I don't need

You do realize 'drawback' is a negative term?

Yeah, I was going to pick up Biedrins long before you picked him up, but I was cautious considering how he's competing against Foyle, Murphy, and Diogu, but didn't realize he'd be this good and that Don would keep giving him big minutes. Oh well. I just hope Bogut and Pachulia picks up the slack :x

What I meant was:

"Biedrins has been doing well in the rebounding and blocks departments as of late, those being the two major drawbacks of my team currently."

I was cautious about the GSW rotation also, especially Murphy, but I have made that many moves and didn't really have a whole lot to lose

same with me. so I dumped hi on you for a C, since Diaw was my only one. :o

Anyways my team is overloaded, Dalembert, Hamilton, Kaman, Kirilenko all up for trade.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 8:30 am

Well if you read what he actually meant, you see what he was trying to say.

He didn't mean Biedrins rebounding and blocking were drawbacks, he meant his team lacked that, thus rebounding and blocking were his teams only drawbacks, which Biedrins was pretty much making up for by rebounding solidly.

Atleast that's what I gathered.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 8:33 am

Jae, I'm interested in Kaman. Would you take Kristic for Kaman?

At first, to me, it read, "Biedrins has been doing well in rebounding and blocks lately, but they're the major drawbacks of my team," as if his strong performance made his stats worse. Anyway, I understand what he was trying to say now.

Jae: I'm putting up Bogut so I might be interested in whichever three blockers/rebounders you're putting up.

Too bad Bogut never had an impact for trade bait on you even though you're a big fan of him

Yeah I would.

Why is trading so much easier with people I'm friends with lol :?

If Bogut did anything outside of score and shoot a good % I'd take him.

Considering you wouldn't trade for your favorite player... Ouch

Wed Nov 29, 2006 9:14 am

 he is my favourite player but there's money riding on this. Plus I wrote that before I saw your reply.

It's true though, in the trades I've made thus far (with Matthew and Indy) there's been no negotiation or anything, they've made good offers and I've taken them. The amount of times I've spent sitting there for 15 minutes listening to some idiot try to convince me that I should take Darius Miles and Juan Dixon for someone like Kobe is ridiculous.

I'm going to think about it for a few days.

My team rocks!

Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:47 am

is there any interest in Josh Smith? I hate to have a top 30 player (in my opinion because of his blks and stls) just sitting on my bench every week. willing to trade for someone who specializes in blks and stls (like a greald wallace)

Thanks Jackal, thats exactly what I meant. I may have said it wrong.

I want Rashard Lewis :D

That doesn't make any sense. Why are you looking to trade Josh for a player just like him?

well, I was looking for someone with better percentages because he is the worst shooter on the Hawks... I don't really need his 3s either.

edit: well, today his percentages don't look too bad because hell froze over and K-Mart went 1-8  and the 1 was off of an alley-oop plus Chris Paul shot under 40%. But under normal circumstances when my team has a shot at winning FG or FT%, it would help if I didn't play Smith.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 7:02 pm

Well, what a week just 2 days in. If it wasn't for Zach Randolphs main strengths being comitting turnovers, I could probably take this week like 9-2. Tough break thus far Q, but things will probably just go up from here.

Chauncey Billups: Yet To Play

Kobe Bryant: 27pts | 4ast | 1blk | 1stl | 6 3ptm | 1 to | 7-7 ft

Richard Jefferson: 27pts | 7rbs | 11-14 ft | 50% fg

Zach Randolph: 30pts | 7orb | 11rbs | 1stl | 8-8 ft

Amare Stoudemire: Yet To Play

Andris Biedrins: 18pts | 5orb | 15rbs | 4ast | 6blk | 1 to

Well, what can I say, I'm real happy right now. Problem is, I'm still one of the worst in the league  I know its early but I'm gonna predict this week going 8-3 to me, me losing assists, steals and turnovers.

EDIT: Oh my god, Mike Miller

Wed Nov 29, 2006 7:09 pm

well, I do have one extra game on you this week. not that it makes much of a difference with Martin having a shitty game today.

there's no way I win PTS or FGM against Kobe and Co. this week. I will probably win TOs and I think Z and Gooden will bring me back in the rebounding categories.
I think I will win either 6-5 or lose 5-6 this week... either way, it'll be a close matchup (as long as K-Mart snaps out of it) and it won't be a blowout like Flite thinks it will be.

Wed Nov 29, 2006 7:24 pm

Is there any easy way to see how many games we have each week? I'm sick of counting schedules  But I think I have 15 games this week and you have 18. Can't quite remember though, but I stick by my blowout prediction 8-)
