First game of the season ended with a win over one of the top 3 teams. Couldn't ask for more if you're a Heat fan.

Nah, Rose was still struggling. Surprise game from Boozer but our players played below their standards. I like the chemistry and Battier but the big 3 were disappointing.

omg i love how muscle Lebron is, so hot!!!!!

it also very nice to see fans leaving again before end of game to go have drinks in local establishments. this very good for Miami economy and how we keep nightlife attractive for tourists. love my hometown!!! :applaud:   :applaud:

Anyone else here who thinks that D-Wade has lost a step?

That has been the D-Wade thing for the last couple seasons. He plays poor for a while but in one game in a crucial moment he is more clutch than God Himself.

But I should leave NovU to answer and analyze that one.

Too early to tell. It's just one game. Give him time.

BTW he's skinny now. I think losing weight was to ease his knees and adjust to aging. He shot 52.1 percent from the field last year and was the only shooting guard to make over 47.0 percent of his shots. I expect him to be the best SG again this season.

I can't believe the Philadelphia Tankers are beating the Heat right now. This is not a good way to tank for the Sixers. But I expect a Heat comeback anytime.

That was a bizarre start for both teams, though the Heat have looked more like themselves from the second quarter on. Dwyane Wade is notably taking the night off as a precaution.

This is funny rather than serious. Not a good way to go against BKN. I don't think it was a bad move by Spo to sit Wade, I mean come on...

Also, there goes that Battier.

Damn. Your reverse psychology worked.

Ugly loss. Wade apparently rested because of soreness but also because they thought PHI has close no chance in tonight's game. Aren't the Heat oldest team in the league at the moment? Seems like it's always going to be tough against these young teams with a lot of energy. Every PHI players came out to prove tonight. Carter-Williams and Wroten wanted to prove themselves and Evan Turner has a contract to sign next season. Hawes in his young career also is given all he can handle with thin roster. What better stage than the Heat game, to make a statement. They did it and Heat's old legs just couldn't keep up.

Ideally you don't want to be in that situation in the first place, which is on the team as a whole. In any case, one of those rare times you'll see a player frustrated with themselves for making a free throw.

I'd have to agree with the ESPN crew's take on LeBron. He missed some fairly open shots that he'd normally knock down and missed them short at that, while not being as explosive as usual. Perhaps, as they suggested, his wedding and other such matters this offseason have left him a little out of sync and not quite at the level he needs to be. Of course, LeBron at 90% (if you could even say he's that far out of his groove) is still the best player in the game and I'd suggest it won't be long before he gets his rhythm back night-in, night-out.

its really good Wade has big boom-boom, poor guy fall down always with little contact so that saves him

i think Wade is maybe little tired....maybe as heat they should get Garnett & not so washed up Pierce in trade for Wade? championship will be easier then because then they have 2 players for 1 and that is better.

Wade should develop his 3pt shot. I see him give up so many open opportunities beyond the arc. He would be so much more of a threat.

Agreed but then it's never been his forte and probably will never be at his age. BUT! He's shooting .667 from 3 point range this season so far, lol.

LeBron says back has been sore for couple weeks

James has been dealing with lower back soreness for a couple of weeks, which explains why the NBA's four-time MVP has said multiple times in the early going of this season that he's working his way to 100 percent. He revealed specifics about the issue Thursday night after scoring 18 points to help the Miami Heat top the Los Angeles Clippers, 102-97.

''I've had a history of it, but I always keep a good eye on it so I should be all right,'' James said. ''It ain't a great feeling, I'll tell you that - especially at nighttime when you're trying to sleep.''

Explains why he's looked a little off at times early on this season.

Not good. Hope it's nothing serious.

Among other Heat news, Chalmers fined $15K for excessive foul

Miami Heat guard Mario Chalmers was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Friday for hitting Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin in the throat with a forearm Thursday night.

The foul also was upgraded to a Flagrant Foul 2 from a common infraction. The incident occurred with 8:05 remaining in the third quarter of the Heat's 102-97 home victory.

LeBron's insisting that it's nothing new and just something that bothers him from time to time. If that's the case, history suggests he'll be fine in the long run.

That's what T-Mac said.

LeBron already making an excuse early this season if they don't win the championship.

If they do win the championship he'd be like 'look I'm like Kobe' by playing through full season with an injury.
