I dont watch too much NCAA basketball.. about this guy Roy Hibbert, he's a big guy and he could be selected by Chicago, acording to the ESPN simulation thing... just wondering how good is he...

Draft.net has the Bulls picking up Nicolas Batum now...good grief. Yes, another SF please.

Sorry, didn't mean it like that =D I meant that someone else made that observation and i didn't mean to plagiarize that person's post.

You lucky, lucky bastard.

I second that.
Homecourt advantage aside, the #2 seed might be their easiest matchup if the Wizards drop to seventh. That's not to say it would be easy since Jamison is still there and it would be dangerous to underestimate them but I'd say it's the most appealing possibility.

Not much to complain about there, as it stands today they're alone in the #2 spot. Cleveland's still too close for comfort though as long they can at least finish tied with the Cavs and above the Raptors they'll wrap up homecourt through the first two rounds.

NY next 3 games
@Toronto
Nets
@Bobcats
I predict a 0-3
And this is the current standing as of 4/13/07
1.MEM 19-60 DEN, SAN, @MIN
2.BOS 23-56 @ORL, @MIA, DET
3.MIL 27-52 CHA, ATL, @CLE
4.ATL 29-50 @CLE, @MIL, IND
5.SEA 31-48 @POR, @LAL, DAL
5.POR 31-48 SEA, @UTA, GSW
7.CHA 32-48 @MIL, NY
8.NY 32-47 @TOR, NJ, @CHA
8.SAC 32-47 @LAC, NOK, LAL
8.MIN 32-47 @GSW, @DEN, MEM
11.PHI 33-45 ORL, @DET, CLE, @TOR
Notes:
Bobcats should win against MIL (tank mode) and also at home versus NY.
I see POR winning their homes games versus SEA and GSW
SEA could win one against LA because their morale is going downhill at this moment after how knows how many staright losses. Maybe Dallas could give them a freebie... anyways DAllas has nothing to lose, they the #1 seed.
If all of the above were to happened, that will place NY at the #5 spot giving the Bulls an ever bigger chance to get a top pick

Indeed. It's not a safe bet to rely on the Cavs stumbling so it would seem the Bulls will have to win their final two games to lock up the second seed. With Chicago and Cleveland both playing their final games on the 18th, it could well come down to the final day of the regular season. Toronto's still hanging around as well and could snatch the second seed if given an opening.
Good game against the Bobcats today with the usual suspects doing the most damage. Thomas lived up to his habit of providing at least one energising play with that dunk in the first quarter that finished up being a three point play. Things looked a bit sloppy early on in the third but I thought they did a good job of settling down and getting back on track since as well all know those sluggish stretches have a history of leading to blown double digit leads. They got the job done though and have already guaranteed their best record since 1998. Good times.
Elsewhere New York is officially out of the playoff picture so there's another lottery pick to look forward to this offseason. If it comes out at number one or two, surely Pax will be in the running for Executive of the Year in 2008.
There's still a slim chance the Nets could overtake the Wizards since they hold the tiebreaker, but for that to happen the Wizards would need to drop their final three games while the Nets go 2-1 the rest of the way (since going 3-0 wouldn't be advantageous for the Bulls). That's not to say the Wizards will be a pushover but I still like their chances against a depleted team compared to the threat of New Jersey's Big Three.

I doubt Seattle wins another game this season, most of the roster is D-Leaguers at this point. When Mike Wilks is your 2nd leading scorer, that says something.

Cleveland thumped Atlanta today so the pressure's still on to win the last two if they want the second seed.
I forgot to mention this yesterday but unsurprisingly the Bulls were not featured as the Eastern team of the week on NBA Action once again, with the Nets being profiled for about the 15th time this season. Through the last ten games, no team in the East has been as hot as the Bulls (with the exception of the Raptors who are also 8-2) or knocked off the top team in the conference twice in as many weeks yet the sub .500 team that's been profiled several times is featured once again? That's some quality coverage.
I also thought it was about time I updated the thread title since there's a few of us talking Bulls on a regular basis.

Cleveland will win out their season (philadelphia and milwaukee) and they will finish 50-32.
Chicago will beat the nets and finish 50-32 with the #2 seed. Only because the cavs lost games they shouldn't of lost (charlotte twice, atlanta, etc) Oh well, maybe it's just because they're a young team with a young coach :-p.
The bulls shouldnt have much trouble in the playoffs, ending up with toronto in round 2 and probably winning. The cavs will have trouble in the playoffs with miami then detroit though.
I hope to see this team in the conference finals against chicago

Woohoo!
Now it looks like the rest of us Bulls fans post in here too!
Not that i do that much anyways

I'd be surprised if Cleveland doesn't finish 50-32 so the final game against New Jersey certainly is a must-win. At this point of the year they should be in that mindset anyway.
I think the Bulls do have a really good shot at going to the Conference Finals if they end up with the second seed but the second round matchup could easily throw a spanner in the works. Their last outing against Toronto wasn't impressive and though they'd have homecourt advantage they can't afford to give the Raptors any kind of opening. The first round won't be a pushover either but I do like their chances against the Wizards or Nets and would be extremely disappointed if they couldn't pull that one out. Don't get me wrong, I want them to do it and I believe they
can do it, I just think it's going to be tougher than perhaps first anticipated.
EDIT: Just saw that Ben Gordon was named Player of the Week last week, averaging 24.3 points, 4.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game as the Bulls went 3-0 last week. I expect the Bulls will still get snubbed on the upcoming episode of NBA Action. After all, they don't even show highlights or even announce the players of the week on a regular basis anymore.

realistics scenario: Nets beat Chicago, Cleveland win last 2 = Chicago vs Miami, Cleveland vs Washington

Personally I think that Chicago beating New Jersey in their final regular season game, while hardly guaranteed, is not an unrealistic scenario either.
Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:41 pm
and so it comes down to the last reg season game to decide seeds 2,5,6,7.

Somehow I don't see the Cavs losing to the Bucks. At least the Bulls are in control of their own destiny; if they win tomorrow it doesn't matter what else happens.

Wow!
I just watched the nets-bulls game (didnt watch much of the cavs game because this one meant more)
I personally am happy being a cleveland fan, but I wont rub it in...
The bulls just played a bad game:
- Early on the nets had a fast tempo and chicago could not adjust
- The bulls especially early on, but basically the whole game took poor contested jumpshots (low percentage) They converted few of these. - I think this is why the bulls are still away from another championship... They rely too much on the outside shot
- The bulls played extremely poor 1st half defense giving new jersey easy inside conversion (the defense was pretty good in the second half though, NJ just put them away with some crazy threes in the 4th)
- The bulls were unable to convert on most new jersey turnovers and misses
I'm shocked the bulls didnt win this game, but they just were not motivated and did not play with enough heart to win this extremely crucial game. (everybody knew cleveland was going to win, so chicago knew they had to win)
but, #5 chicago vs #4 miami should be a great series IMO. I predict it being very close. Since chicago has home court and I do think they are the better team I'd normally pick them, but miami has pat riley and shaquille o'neil (2 old guys) and they get ALL the calls. This pissed me off when miami played the cavs all 4 times this year.
Shaq hacks people and doesnt get called because he's "Shaq" and Pat Riley gets more calls in general than any other coach.
but the bulls did beat them 3-0 or 3-1 this year I think, so maybe they can bring it against them.

The Heat are plagued by fatigue and they're a squad that usually heats up around April, but this year I see them crashing and burning. The East is a lot tougher and it won't be a Heat/Pistons guarantee anymore. This year could see Miami leaving in the first round of the playoffs.
D-Wade's game isn't as strong as it was last year and Ben Wallace's presence instead of Tyson Chandler should help them contain Shaq.
