I think New York gave up way too much. They should have at least kept Felton instead of taking on Billups, who I recall didn't want to leave Denver. I think Denver might actually be better than before.

Maybe, but I thin k it's worth it. They now have two superstar players to build around. Walsh knows he needs more pieces - this is a two, three-year project.

Let's just hope he's around to do it instead of Thomas, I can see Thomas handing out a 5 year 100 million dollar contract to DJ Mbenga.

He's going to wear #7 if anyone cares.

That's why I'd feel happier if Walsh gets an extension. Deadline is April 30th.

With Walsh around, it's far less likely that Amar'e (along with five or six first round picks) will be traded to the Bulls for Taj Gibson on top of handing out that $100 million contract to DJ Mbenga within the next couple of years. As I said in the Knicks thread, it's disgraceful and a slap in the face to Walsh that Thomas is anywhere in the picture at this point.

nobody but the roster patch makers here.
btw, didn't the knicks already have a deal in place last week without mozgov and then got roped/raped into including him?

Yeah, because of the Nets' offer.

Damn, the nuggets now have like 11 players who can start!
Wed Feb 23, 2011 4:19 pm
And 6 or 7 who can...
Wed Feb 23, 2011 6:54 pm
On top of that, JR Smith as the best scoring option... This team is for real.

Great new start anyways. Beats the Gayless Grizzlies. Both teams will need luck. Whole lot of it.
Wed Feb 23, 2011 7:04 pm
You do know they have Nene, Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari, right?
Wed Feb 23, 2011 7:25 pm
Bah. For right now, I think JR or Gallo pretty much the similar in terms of potential/value. Whoever starts, I won't be surprised. JR always seemed to be a capable scorer so perhaps the reason Nuggets was reluctant to trade this guy was to see how he coule play without Melo taking up the usage. As for Gallo and Chandler, they're complementary players to me. We've seen how lowly NYK was just last year. This year, they been getting much attention due to Amare's win impact to the team. So I am not inclined to believe they're all that good as you been claiming.

Finally the soap opera is over
It's just me surely, but I don't like Melo with the Knicks. I would have liked him more with the Nets..

I'm still pushing for the Suns in playoffs

Now that JR's the best player on Nuggets and Gay's injured, it is quite possible.

I"m glad for new york, one thing first, they get Balkman back. Knicks get a point gaurd in return and not just Anthony, Anthony is going to have to stop being a shoot first point gaurd, and start passing it to Carmelo and Amari more, we all know Chauncy can pass.

Are you talking aobut Anthony Carter?

That no name?

Melo looks wrong in a Knicks' jersey
Fri Feb 25, 2011 5:22 am
Pretty sure Cleveland wins means Billups. Good debut for Melo albeit not on the most efficient shooting and against a bad team. Knicks/Cheat should be a good one.

I was thinking the same thing, except about Chauncey Billups

He looks wrong in a #7 also. We're just so used to seeing him in a light colored #15 jersey.
