The Spurs blew it, which has been the story of the series for them. Not to take anything away from Kobe's performance or the Lakers' resilience but the way they gave up leads and went through scoring droughts in the series isn't play befitting a championship contender. A disappointing end to the season for them but an outstanding performance from the Lakers.

Not to make too much of an issue out of it I thought that was a bit of poor sportsmanship on Vujacic's part. The Spurs had conceded the game and there was no one around him, he should have just dribbled it out as that's simply the done thing in the NBA. Still, what's done is done and the bigger issue is that the Spurs did not take care of business while the Lakers did and are off to the Finals as a result.

[rant] Spurs in 4! [/rant]

The Spurs just blew it, they had the lead and squandered on the Lakers comeback. It's just unacceptable. Well, the Spurs will be champs on 2009, 2011, 2013...

Yeah!

There is a curse or something like that in the NBA!

McGrady: Can't advance 1st Round
San Antonio: Champs only in years ended in 1, 3, 5, 7, 9.

I don't remember any other xD

Im guessing he shot it out of excitement. Of course he could of been doing it because Ginobili slapped him in the face first.

You make it sound like Ginobili walked up to him and intentionally slapped him in the face when players getting hit in the face on a reach-in is not out of the ordinary. Unfortunate, but not out of the ordinary. In any case, an incident that occurred way back in the first half doesn't change the fact that taking a shot in that situation isn't considered the sporting thing to do. In the grand scheme of things it's not all that important but I don't care for it all the same. I wouldn't expect everyone to be of the same opinion.

Speaking of unsportsmanlike play though, I'm a little surprised to the series go by without any notable incidents involving Bowen or Horry.

Vujacic is a douche. Maybe that's why he was assigned to guard Ginobili when he's on the floor. A douche to guard a douche flopper.

lol...... a douche..... bowen had so many times where his foot was under kobe's but kobe reacted to those fast..... i saw over 3 times in game 5 where bowen's foot was way too near kobe's legs..... also horry didn't play much in the series becuz he's washed out.... spurs need to let finley and horry go, resign thomas in the offseason and draft some young talent that they can fit in the rotation this year like the pistons did last year...

Horry played more than ten minutes in Games 2, 3 and 4 though which is ample time for him to have been involved in some extra-curricular activities.

The awarding of the Western Conference trophy was awkard. Jerry West, the person Kobe really wanted to be a GM, took a long time with his ramblings while Mitch Kupchak, the GM Kobe just fought with before the season started, was just standing there.

Laker fans booing the Spurs when Jerry West told them to appreciate the Spurs efforts. lol

jesus christ it's called defense. Get over it.

The biggest defensive flopper in the league would have to be fisher, and the biggest offensive flopper would probably be manu or rip.

I actually think the spurs are a pretty clean team, who refreshingly complain less than most, and play with respect. The only reason I see for people hating them is that they have been consistently good for such a long time, beating people's favorite teams. I also think that their relative lack of reaction strangely seems to infuriate people. haha. I think having them as champions has been great for basketball as they generally set a good example as to how the game should be played.

yeah, Lakers fans, in general, seem to be very disrespectful, poor winners. Even the players, in general, seem somewhat arrogant and overreactive. Maybe I'm just saying that because they beat the spurs, but I doubt it. anyway, I hope Boston or Detroit wins in the finals, I think either can, but it should be exciting.

Awesome game and series. Sad and glad to be honest, I really do respect the Spurs and am very fond of big men that can play and there are none better than Tim Duncan.

I think it's safe to say that he is probably the best PF of all time up till now followed by Karl Malone. Maybe I'm just too young to remember Malone...or it could also just be that I like Duncan's game too much, whatever...it's my opinion and I love myself for it.

Lakers to the Finals...niceness. But..just the beginning...

NBA Champions? I sure as hell hope so!! <3

I expected at least 6 games, but the Lakers seemed more hungry for the 'chip.
Props to Duncan on that triple double, but more props to Kobe for his performance.
