Adam Morrison is going to be the best choice for Toronto. They have a big man, Chris Bosh but Toronto will need a 1-2 punch and Adam Morrison could do that. Two big scoring threats extending to the 3 point line.
People already started calling Morrison the "next Larry Bird."
Why? because he is about 6'8" and he is white......

NO MORRISON!!!!

Dudes mustache pisses me off. I want a center or someone that is not going to cry and roll from one end of the court to the other after losing a game (although it was a very important game).

So...
1. It turns out Tyrus Thomas is only 6'7, so if anyone thinks he's still gonna play the 4 in the NBA, those dreams should be crushed now.

2. Both Aldridge and Thomas have pulled out of several workouts because they both apparently have deals in place with top teams. So now that makes me think that Colangelo has decided to go with Aldridge, because I'm guessing there weren't any good deals really on the table, and that Bosh's influence has made the decision to go with Aldridge over Bargnani.

He'd still be an awesome fit in Toronto. He'd be an awesome complement to Bosh's game.

If anything rudy gay is the best guy for them but everyone things that itay kid is when they already have chris bosh and CV at pf who get step out and hit the jumper. I think Colangelo's smokescreen thing is true cuz look at how hes talked about all the other top canidates but Rudy Gay..

Toronto swaps players with San Antonio. Robert Whaley from the previous deal is waived.

LISTEN TO IT!! Listen to Randy Foye.... this guy sounds like a retard. He was like, "When my agent said I was going to Canada, I was like damn, it's cold there. But then when I got here, I saw that they had big buildings and it was just like New York."

No shit we got buildings?? We arent jsut some damn village!!!

He's not the only one in the US thinking like that. A lot of Americans have this conception that all Canadians live in igloos, even though Toronto's only around 500 km from New York.

I don't think he means that Canadians are primitive people, I think he just means that he never realized Toronto was so similar to New York (or so he thinks). I think it should be looked at as more of a compliment.

...
i dont really care, although here's my thoughts:
now that they have nesterovic, put him as starting C. then put bosh as PF(obviously  ) and Charlie V at SF. So you'd think now that Colangelo is trading and getting all these big guys, he'll target a guard in the draft...

What do u guys think of Jason Terry? With the arrivle of Rasho I'm beginning to lean more and more away from taking a big with the top spot but rather going with someone like Rudy Gay or Adam Morrison with the top pick.

An injection of either of those two would set us in the 2-4 positions. Bringing in a guy like Jason Terry, who has shown he can play with a superstar, would give us an instant answer at PG

Terry/Calderon/Ukic
Mo/Gay/Graham/Denham Brown???
CV31/Gay/Graham/Denham Brown???
Bosh/Humphries
Rasho/Sow

Instant playoff team right there and I think we can do it without blowing the cap entirely. Being roughly 14M under the cap Terry is gonna be looking for something in the $7-9M range which we can easily supply.

Just a thought

I don't think Jason Terry would sign with a different team, especially since he played so well with the Mavericks and got so far into the playoffs.

If Sam Cassell would come here, he'd be a much better fit than Terry.

"It's a really talented team and with some good work and good luck ... there's a good possibility that in three or four years Toronto could be in the top three or four teams in the league," the newest Raptor said yesterday in a conference call from his native Slovenia.

Nesterovic, a 7-footer who has been in the NBA since 1998, was obtained along with cash from the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday for Matt Bonner, Eric Williams and a 2009 second-round draft pick.

While moving from one of the most successful franchises in the NBA to one of the weakest might be disappointing to some, Nesterovic said all the right things yesterday. "It's definitely exciting. It's a young team, a very talented team with some very big goals. The last couple of years, Toronto didn't have much success; that means nothing."

It looks like Rasho has no ego or no problem being with the Raptorsl. This is definitely a good sign for Toronto, there hasn't been too many enthusiasts joining this city lately.

alright, you all may think i'm crazy for this but i'm going to try and explain something i was lulling over in my head at work the other day.
now first you have to understand i work in a factory, on a 12 hour shift, and my job is quite boring, so i think about these sorts of things alot... at first in no way did i want toronto to take bargnani, but then this idea came to my mind. What would happen if toronto came out with 1 Centre (Rasho), 3 forwards (Bosh, Villa, Bargnani) and a Gaurd(mo-pete??). This would make massive matchup problems for the oppostion. take a minute to stop laughing at what i jsut said and listen to my explanation of this
c-Rasho
pf-bosh
sf-bargnani
sg/sf-villanueva
pg/sg-mo-pete

that would force the ball into mo-pete's hands, which i believe he would be comfortable doing, and it would create matchup problems at the 1 and 2 spots. do u play big on villanueva, or small. play a sg or pg on mo-pete. Now CB4 and CV31 are both athletic pf's and bargnani seems to be quite an athlete from what i've seen. if the raps played a towned down version of phil jacksons old triangle offense, they could get the ball into his hands for a mid-range jumper over a smaller defender, they could have villaneuve use his power over smaller defenders, or quickness over bigger defenders, mo-pete could shoot over any point gaurd. now using rasho as a primary screen man, u could run bosh into the low post and setup the triangle, this way he can do his turn-around, drive, or kick to mo-pete or bargnani on the arc. also villanueva on the opposite drive cut to the basket. This offensive setup would create massive problems for a defense having to stop 4 big men, 1 who is a great all around player (bosh), 1 who can grab offensive boards (rasho), 1 who has great athleticism for a man his size (villa), and 1 who can step outside to the arc (bargnani), plus a SG playing the 1 spot. You could easily switch out of this and go to a more conventional line up depending on the game situation, but if they drafted bargnani they could experiment with this theory. Now on defense this 4 forwards theory would be useless against a run n' gun team ala suns or mavs, but against half-court teams, they could drop into a 2-3 defensive zone, have villa and mo-pete on the top, two tall guys to cover the gaurds, bargnani and bosh on the wings, 2 tall defenders against the 3 balls, and who can step inside, and nesterovich in the middle to grab the boards. Now your either thinking "this guy is a complete whack job", "this guy is a genius", or "this guy has an overactive imagination", and all 3 are probably correct, to a degree... but it's innovative new techniques and sytles like this that change the game, anyone remember a man named Don Nelson?? he loved to do crazy things, and most of them have worked. Do I think that a 4 Forward system will ever be seen in the Association? Probably not... but could it work??? i think it very well could be effective, with the right personnel

Don't wanna argue but ill jus keep it simple.
I didn't read the whole thing but jus looked at the roster shit.

1. CV31 is too slow to guard SGs. What happens if he plays someone like ... Kobe Bryant or something ? Yes it will cause height mismatches but Kobe would straight blow by him.
2. We all know Mo Pete ain't gonna play PG.

Sam is right. That is an amazingly retarded lineup.

Charlie can't guard power fowards, let alone small fowards, so I don't know how the hell you came up with the idea that he can play the 2. Sure he's versatile but he'll get lit up.

Morris Peterson is strictly a SF/SG. I remember during a period of time when he was forced to play point guard when most of the Raptors' point guards were injured or something. It wasn't pretty.

"this guy is a complete whack job"

I completely agree.

"this guy is a genius"

Not at all. This kind of lineup sounds like you just dreamed it up while playing NBA Live or something.

"this guy has an overactive imagination"

I guess that'll work as well.

but it's innovative new techniques and sytles like this that change the game, anyone remember a man named Don Nelson?? he loved to do crazy things, and most of them have worked.

There are innovative "techniques", but there are things that are borderline stupid and simply aren't possible to make successful.
