Not at all, Boozer's deal isn't even a max contract and still leaves room to sign LeBron if he chooses Chicago.

It's really not that bad of a deal considering what he COULD have gotten. A desperate team looking to spend their money would have given him a max deal of like 90-100 mil.

Boozer should be able to play well in the East where his only competition at PF is Bosh, Garnett, Smith... and uh, yeah that's it.

Re: 2010 Free Agency Discussion Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 7:28 am

I know they still have the cap space for LeBron, but I would have thought they would wait for LeBron's decision before signing someone else.

With this signing and some other serious additions , bulls can be a top team at the east and if they sign lebron they will be one of the favourites for the conference finals

It is the maximum number of years for a player changing teams, and also the maximum number of years in a contract extension for those in the rookie scale

Unless the Wizards back out of the Hinrich trade.

After news of Bosh and Wade teaming up together in Miami surfaced, they HAD to get Boozer, the next best available FA. i'm guessing NJN or even NYK could have offered Boozer max money.. leaving the Bulls only David Lee as the only decent PF in the market

Regardless, i am surprised Boozer took less/non max contract to play for the Bulls

He was so sure about it, too.

if you follow ochocinco's twitter (not that he matters) he seems to be claiming that NY isnt out of the picture yet. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Even predicted LeBron wearing number 23. Nice.

Do we give him credit for predicting Robinson leaving, or not?

I'm sure Latrell Sprewell and Antoine Walker could use the veterans minimum to help pay for their bankruptcies so we really should be considering the Heat as a seven man team at the least.

And Walker's got a ring!

Re: 2010 Free Agency Discussion Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 4:37 pm

Shaq's also a free agent. The Heat could give him part of the MLE.
Allen Iverson also wants to play again.

Re: 2010 Free Agency Discussion Thread

Thu Jul 08, 2010 4:40 pm

No, the Heat can't use the MLE, they're under the cap.

But Mt. Mutombo could come out of retirement to man the middle. And Reggie Miller could sit in the corner to hit some threes!
