Ben, I never did say that they should trade Marion together with Wade, but your point is well taken.

A team needs a winner, yet many of the players on the Heat's roster can already be winners. Marion will probably get traded for Odom or Brand... both of those guys are more than willing to take the game into their hands. (Odom didn't have to with Kobe, but he used to be the go-to guy back in his Clipper days). Beasley seems to be a go to guy, but yet again... one can never know until he actually plays at the next level.

This almost makes me want to go on another rant about how much people who only watch college ball and complain about how the pros are completely superstar based suck. Maybe they're why I somehow subconsciously strive to preach a balance of talent in this league instead of such blatant superstar focus. I am nothing but a dreamer though, I do realize that.

Bilas on Gordon:

He's a scoring scorer. He scores like most scorers can score, and when he gets in to the league one thing is for sure- he will score. I would have to label Gordon as a scorer and lastly, he will find a way to score in the NBA.

Stephen A. Smith to every single player he interviewed:
How will *insert team here* do next year with you on board. (After answer is a politically correct one) Aw come on, give me a prediction.

Also he asked just about everyone up there if they could play point guard.

Then theres Stuart Scott:
They have a semi-decent player already named LeBron James.

They drafted a semi-decent player in Isiah Thomas last time they picked a guy from Indiana.

That Garnett is decent at the game of basketball.

And on and on and on. You are not funny Stuart Scott, not funny at all.

Oh man, that's pretty damn hilarious.

I live in the middle of nowhere, and there was one hell of a storm that night so I had no way to go out and find a television. I was following the draft on ESPN.com's draft blog thingy... and the chat there was ridiculous, not informative at all, and pretty much plain stupid.

That makes little sense, yet English is probably not your first language so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

"Arms that seem to go on forever" (or something like that...) was being tossed around quite a bit.

that earned a single scull every time

Am I the only one who noticed that Darrell Arthur got traded 4 times on draft night?

Sun Jun 29, 2008 12:32 am

Yes.

Sun Jun 29, 2008 3:26 am

On his way to being Keith Van Horn 2 perhaps?

Sun Jun 29, 2008 3:32 am

Hope not. He's a nice player.

Sun Jun 29, 2008 5:08 am

Van Horn wasn't a bad player.

just didn't live up to his potential thats all

Sun Jun 29, 2008 11:05 am

Potential is such an overused term.

Sure he did, his career just didn't last that long, but he was just as good as anyone could have hoped for a few years.

According to my re-draft of 1997, KVH was the 4th best player to come out of that draft....that's not bad considering he was 2nd overall pick....in the first 4 years or so, he was #2 behind Duncan, then T-Mac passed him, & it wasn't until Billups latched onto Detroit & made a career for himself, that he passed the Great White Hope....

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic. ... 569#803569

KVH retired prematurely, but could still probably easily be a 10ppg scorer off the bench....

so given the draft he was in, he did well....he was just on some bad teams & some bad situations during that time....
