Sonics moving to Oklahoma City

rumors that they will be the Oklahoma City Outlaws. they should make some sick black jerseys kinda like Kansas State's black ones. A black and gold team would be a nice change from all the blue & red.

Sounds like a good idea to me, they'd definitely stand out in a league where the jerseys are starting to become a bit generic.

Outlaws... not a bad name

The final four names being considered in an Oklahoma City newspaper contest are the "Barons," the "Thunderbirds," the "Thunder," or the "Outlaws."

So from the four, Outlaws is the best.

I remember 5 years ago when I voted for Charlotte Flight but it ended up as bobcats.

Oklahoma City already have pro sport teams such as the Oklahoma City Blazers · Oklahoma City Lightning · Oklahoma Redhawks · Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs.

They already have the Lightning so why put up a Thunder?..and Seattle have Storm.

Yes, and soon will come the storm. I hate these tragic names. I hope they will give their OKC some happy and gay names such as the Oklahoma City BestFriends, Oklahoma City Butterflies, Oklamoha City Rainbow-in-the-Skies..Oklahoma City Pot of Golds..

and next year New Jersey will be the Brooklyn Niatch.

I don't think it will be "Thunderbirds" since there is a team already named that in the D-League.

i like the name thunderbirds. lots of mystery and history with that name

i like 3 names of the future OKC team i heard in rumors: Barons, Outlaws and Thunder! and also idea of Black/Gold/White jerseys, i'm kinda imagine NO Saints uniforms and it's cool!

When I heard "Outlaws" I thought of black and gold as well, but I was picturing Washington's alternative (which I don't care for.).

Not a bad final four. Outlaws and Thunderbirds are my favourites out of those choices.

Outlaws... That's asking for trouble. They're allready bringing too much negative karma.

Reds
Rednecks
Bisons
Tornadoes
Dust Bowls
Derricks

If they choose any of these I'll be asking for royalties

That's a fair point, perhaps it could be the deciding factor in choosing the winner out of the final four.

Is their name going to be Oklahoma ___ or Oklahoma City ___?
I always assumed "city" would be included, but never really gave it much thought.

So far all references to the new team have mentioned Oklahoma City, so it appears the team will bear the city's name rather than the state's.

I also heard Red Barons, I like most so far Outlaws, Oklahoma City Outlaws

How about the "Oklahoma City Dust Balls"?
The Summer League announcers said Thundercats but I'm pretty sure they were kidding.

OCO looks kind of funny, I wonder if that'd be their abbreviation. That's probably my favorite name so far though.
