Pau Gasol scored over 30 points again, on 13/14 shooting. Wow.

And the Germans are just...what a loss against the US.

I wish I could say I'm that confident. On the other hand, I'm pretty confident Channel Seven will pre-empt it and we'll know the final result before they show it.

Don't even get me started on Channel 7's coverage :(

The good news is that Channel Nine and Foxtel will be covering the 2012 games. If they make use of all three Fox Sports channels, so much the better.

That's a lot better combo....not only will they use all 3 Fox Sports channels, plus Channel 9, I've got a feeling the red button might become your best friend....imagine this scenario....you go onto Fox Sports, hit the red button & it takes you to a screen with like 15-20 live feeds from different sports taking place at any one time....you select the live feed you have....it's the future....you get to watch what you want to....maybe by then, I'll get Foxtel back....

Good news guys!

SBS is showing all the quarter finals except for US-Aus.

Spain is first up against Croatia at 4:30 pm I think it is. And then China-Lithuania at 7:30 pm. Then Australia-USA will be on 7 at 10 pm... im sure they will ahve to show the whole game. No excuses this time. It's a huge game! Then 12:15 am is Greece-Argentina on SBS.

I'm going to be watching all of them. :)

I'm going to tip that Spain, China, USA and Argentina will advance. :)

I agree(yes, I'm from Lithuania) and I hate why some people(Sit) are underrating Lithuania(for the only loss to Australia). We proved last year in the euro championship that even without two of our starters(Ilgauskas and Macijauskas) we can still perform at a very big level. This year, we have a little better bench and our overall play quality is better. The loss to Australia was just a coincidence, the guys were over-confident, they didn't get ready for the game properly, Australia had a hot night and now everybody thinks that our win against Argentina was an accident, but it wasn't. We had beaten Argentina in the preparation games(blew them out) but it didn't matter. Argentina is just getting too old and slow.

I don't think anybody underrates Lithuania....Sit does have Chinese origins, so he is more inclined to follow the hometown team....the simple fact is the only games I can pick a clear cut winner is US & Spain....Lithuania should win, but China is at home so they might raise up for the one game & finish 4th....Lithuania is a very good team, just not a great team....I don't think anybody thinks the win over Argentina was a fluke, that was always one of those 50-50 games, as those 2 teams, along with Greece, are all on a very similar level....

Tier 1: USA
Tier 2a: Spain
Tier 2b: Argentina, Greece, Lithuania
Tier 3a: Australia
Tier 3b: China, Croatia, Germany, Russia
Tier 5: Angola, Iran

Anyways, I'm predicting US by 20-25, Greece by 1-5, Spain by 5-10 and China by 1-5. Not that China is better team, as can be seen by my tiers, they are not. The best does not always win.

Spain beats China by 15-20 in semi final. US beats Greece by 10-15 in other semi. Greece beats China by 5-10 for bronze medal. US beats Spain by 1-5 for gold medal. In classification round, Argentina 5th, Lithuania 6th, Australia 7th, Croatia 8th, Germany 9th, Russia 10th, Iran 11th, Angola 12th

Lithuania dominates China 94:68... So your prediction might be inaccurate(might be that Spain won't advance)...

Anyone I may have offended, chill out! I'm of Chinese descent. So I had to go with the Chinese. I was just judging that a good first quarter and a half against the US... a good 3 quarters against Spain were indicators that China might be able to cause an upset.

I'm very very disappointed in Yi Jianlian and also wished that Wang Zhizhi was hitting from downtown. We all know that if Lithuania is on target, then they are hard to beat. Yao Ming showed he had heart tonight. China should be greatful to have him... he was the team. It was Yao v lithuania tonight.

And again, as Gaze said, 'I was expecting a lot mroe from Yi'

And X, theres no classification rounds anymore!

you never know what will happen....whoever is on their game will advance to gold medal game....we haven't seen best of Spain, so we shall see....the China pick was always the wildcard....I figured I had to have at least one huge upset (& I wasn't going to take Australia)....I guess I overrated the importance of home court/crowd advantage playing against a far superior team....as Sit said, when Lithuania is on, they are very, very hard to beat....

They're obviously only one win away from a medal....should be interesting....depends on who advances in other games I guess....

Sit wrote:And X, theres no classification rounds anymore!

yeah, I just saw that....glad they got rid of them, they were a waste of time anyways....

i think spanoulis (greece) should have taken a lay-up or a short jumper instead of going for the win with about 5 seconds to go in the clock, and let the game continue in OT..

I read in an article that teams rather go for the win than tie the game... but yes, the reason you shoot the three with 5 seconds left is that even if you miss, you have a slim chance of an offensive board and thus a second chance bucket opportunity. So works both ways. I can't remember clearly but I think he had a decent look... so can't fault him for taking the shot.

If I was in his shoes, I think I would have gone for the win too.

I don't think so... Argentina was very hot, especially Delfino. And Greece has some good luck coming back(that bank trey) I would've taken a trey too, but maybe I would've settled for at least a better one, not just pull-up....

I forgot all about the red button interactive stuff. If they do that route then it's definitely going to leave Channel Seven's coverage in the dust.

Meanwhile, decent first half for the Boomers but the second half was just embarrassing. I hoped they'd make a couple of runs to save face but it wasn't to be. Ah well, no shame in being beaten by the best.

I don't think so , we got fouled a lot of times , especially Scola under the hoop

Also a ref called a foul before the contact , i mean nocioni was going for a block and he fouled the another player , but the foul was called before he touched the other guy , i mean when nocioni was rising :S

Anyway Greece played very good , but sometimes Manu and Carlitos ( Delfino ) can make some difference

I also loved Prigioni

Lets see tomorrow against the powerful U S A

Of course every single douche from Argentina is gonna disagree with me on that. No surprise you don't think so. You're wrong though due to being biased.
