Tirico: (jokingly) Luke Walton, who has had to overcome an overbearing and mentally unstable father...
Walton (laughing) I concur...wholeheartedly!

And did you notice those times where Kobe drilled jumpers over one defender in the 4th? That's why Kobe gets a double.

Again, look at the facts:

Kobe scores 42.5ppg vs. the Suns in the season; Suns win 3 out of 4

Kobe hasn't scored over 30 in this series; Lakers win 2 out of 3

An adjustment needs to be made on defense.

If they adjust, they will be leaving the defensive guru raja bell on an island against kobe. then the suns will be in all sorts of trouble.

I watch Euroleague and such and the fans are much for rowdy than in the NBA. Even College fans are rowdier. They need some of that to make it a real playoff atmosphere. Its probably cuz of all the old folks who watch games that dont wanna get a heart attack or something of the sort.

Sat Apr 29, 2006 9:48 pm

Yeah, even when Euroleague grands came to Kaunas Sports Hall, they are stunned how great the support and atmosphere was there... 8-)

Can somebody bitchslap Marion, please? He looks like...me or Jugs out there :shake:

Mon May 01, 2006 8:18 am

So Walton can just grab whoever we wants now? BS.

Mon May 01, 2006 8:28 am

Wow, I'm surprised Smush hit that 3. I knew someone was going to make one, but I was expecting it to be Devean Geroge. I guess even prophets like myself can be fuzzy on some of the minor details.

Once again God proves to either not exist, or he's a Lakers fan. I hate him either way.

<--- Not watching the playoffs again

He's probably up there wearing the pre-release special editiong #24.

Suns. Screwed. Shit. I can't believe this. They said the ref couldn't see Nash calling the TO because of the double team, but in the replay, he was looking right at him. Also, the Lakers didn't have a hand on the ball, so it should've been called. This is just another golden example of the refs blowing a great game. This plus the LeBron travel. I'm so angry!

Mon May 01, 2006 8:53 am

You sure are a fair cavaliers fan..impressive. (y)

Mon May 01, 2006 9:03 am

Unbelievable!

Wait, nevermind. It's plenty believable. This wouldn't be the first time a team has recieved the shaft in Staples Center.

at least he recognizes that LeBron did travel and the call should have been made. I don't know about anyone else but i wouldn't feel right if my team won on a blatant non-call.

I don't think anyone disagrees that lebron traveled. That person wouldn't be a true basketball fan if they didnt recognise that. It's the bashing of lebron because the refs didn't call it thats unfair.

Can someone tell me what the fuck MP3 means?? (Not the song format)

Mon May 01, 2006 11:23 am

I was a little non-plussed with some of the calls being made though.

The Black Death wrote:Can someone tell me what the fuck MP3 means?? (Not the song format)

I don't even have to read the thread to answer this one. MP3 means MVP. It's from Borat, the guy from Da Ali G Show. He does a commercial for NBA basketball with Steve Nash, and refers to him as 'da MPfree' instead of MVP. :P

Mon May 01, 2006 11:40 am

Is it just me or are the playoffs rigged? No time out call for Nash which led to the rape.

Mon May 01, 2006 11:55 am

They certainly seem rigged.

I'm interested to see what Colin comes up with for a sig after this sad excuse of a game...

also Andrew, nonplussed is one word, no hyphen :P

for all the suns fan in here whining about the refs..... well i guess we're even..... only difference is the lakers are up 3-1.......

PHOENIX (AP) -- Tim Thomas admits he got away with whacking Kobe Bryant in the head at a critical point in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers.

"I definitely fouled him," Thomas said Monday. "I got away with one, but I didn't do it intentionally. It wasn't like I threw a jab at him."

With less than a minute to play, and the Lakers down 101-97, Bryant was sent tumbling to the floor as he lost the ball on a drive to the basket, incredulous that no whistl

You're excluding the loose ball foul in the critical seconds of game 2 that was not called which kept the Suns from winning that one as well.

Mon May 01, 2006 2:14 pm

yeah, kwame tackles raja? nothing. luke walton, lamar odom rape nash? nothing. marion has tiny ticky tack fouls? fouls out (3 fouls) in 2 minutes.
