Let's get this thread bumping again. What does everyone think about the Warriors' 2006 offseason so far?

Wed Jul 26, 2006 5:31 pm

I think our offseason sucks overall. I was initially against the Fisher dump, but it looks OK to me now. We get a pure PG to back up Baron while also dumping some salary. And Fisher didn't really want to be on the Warriors anyway, as recent news suggests. However, there have been no other trades and we didn't draft that well, and with the loss of Fisher I think we will win less games (32 games?). I don't think I can stand Dun for another season either, haha.

Let's hope I'm wrong and we either lose a lot more games (2007 draft!) or go to the playoffs with Dun and Baron stepping up their games, along with more contributions from Monta and Ike (he better get PT).

The Warriors need to get rid of that piece of shit named Adonal Foyle. He's rumoured to be a nice guy, but I'd rather have someone who can actually play the freaking position without taking 8 million every year out of the Warriors' cap space.

Looks like we are not going to get Al Harrington or even Chris Wilcox.

Yep, I heard. Good news for Warrior Nation!

Wed Apr 25, 2007 7:37 am

So we finally did it. After 13 years, we're back inthe playoffs!!!

What a great job by Don Nelson! First year back in charge, and he goes and achives what 13 years' worth of coaches could not do. Props to him.

I won't get overexcited about Game 1 against Dallas, but it's a good start. Here's to a good future for our franchise.

I'm dreaming of a Warriors-Spurs WCF!!!

Firstly I cheered for the lakers...
then i saw J-Rich dunk and became a Warriors Fan I'm a fan since 04-05 season started and that was the first season I really checked results and plays on NBA.com everyday... and really check out what's goin on
So I don't consider myself a Bandwagoner I was a fan before B. Diddy came and of course I was really happy with that trade and also with the trade this year wich send murphy and dunleavy away... I used to always let Pietrus start over Dunleavy couldn't stand him

I used to hate the Warriors, one of my most hated teams in the league along with San Antonio, Cleveland, Utah and a couple others. Now, they are just too fun to watch I can't hate them. I was never a big Jason Richardson fan but I have always loved watching Baron Davis play so I watched a few of their games (mainly to see he and Monta) and I'm pretty much hooked on watching them any time I can. That midseason trade made them even more exciting. I'm not exactly a fan, but I am rooting for them in the Western Conference.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 8:51 am

I'm with Shannon, I like the Warriors but not really a fan. I'm really hoping for an upset from them in the West.

AZUBUIKE FTW! (Y)

I'm torn when it comes to this series. I'm friends with Monta Ellis, so I'm rooting for him, but at the same time I don't want it to look like the Warriors completely raped the Pacers in that trade.

I'm a bitter mutherfucker what can I say.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 10:29 am

Indy, I wouldn't worry about the effect of the trade on this series. Every team has a deal that doesn't turn out well, and I guess it was just the Pacers turn. Al Harrington played like shit in game one and despite Stephen Jackson's great performance, he was on his way out anyway with all the problems he had back there. If I was an NBA GM I would have never taken on Mike Dunleavy though. Sucks you guys have no lottery pick this year.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 10:53 am

Yeah, Warriors totally raped the Pacers. They gave away 2 guys they didn't need for 2 guys that are having a big impact.

I was only half joking. Neither Jack or Al was going to be the answer and help solve our problems. I was actualy for the trade when it happened. I'm still glad we have Ike Diogu, but I didn't realize just how bad Dunleavy is. Murphy is exactly what I expected offensively, and I wouldn't mind keeping him next year. However Troy is one of the worst defensive players I have ever watched. I've never gotten so upset at a player as I did at Troy for some of the absolutely pathetic mistakes he made defensively.

Our pick is top 10 protected, so there is still a slight chance we get to keep our pick.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 12:07 pm

Yep, Dunleavy is junk. Anyway, Monta is killing it right now.

Thu Apr 26, 2007 12:37 pm

That would be awesome and funny if the warriors win the series. GO WARRIORS!!!

Thu Apr 26, 2007 1:55 pm

As I have said before, the "Zero Tolerence" rule is fucking rediculous. At least give a little more slack during high intensity/high emotion playoff series.

Baron was ejected for clapping. He didn't even say anything, just clapped.

Theres no smiley I can find that shows my frustration. Stephen Jackson also got a technical for STOPPING a fight. What the fuck? This rule needs to go. PLEASE.

:applaud: ----------------------

Baron -------------- Salvatore

EDIT: oh ok, eject Stephen Jackson as well....

Someone lock these refs up with Joey Crawford. (N)

Thu Apr 26, 2007 5:34 pm

I have a feeling that Dallas is going to get some contentious T decisions later in the playoffs, they've had a few go in their favor in these last two weeks (TD first, now today). It's not too fun to watch, even when you support the Mavericks :S. It wasn't too wise of Baron to do that ("mock" the decision), he should know what these officials are like, even at playoff time.

*Wishes that Dallas could've played Lakers, so that Warriors-Suns would be just flat-out action with neither team really caring how many points they concede*

Fri Apr 27, 2007 12:34 am

Baron looks like a black version of that guy from 300

Fri Apr 27, 2007 1:44 am

Actually clapping has nothing to do with zero tolerance.
Even in Soccer you would have gotten a yellow card and if it was your second (like B-Diddy´s 2nd technical foul) you had to leave. He made fun of the Ref and was quite aggressive, too. So I think that was okay.

Warriors are a fun team to watch. Actually Baron was my favorite player when he was at the Hornets when they still were in Charlotte.
Damn, how I miss the Charlotte Hornets of that time.

But I have to root for my man Dirk and the Mavs. I want him to have a ring, at least one ;)

Fri Apr 27, 2007 6:46 pm

Hova- yeah Dirk is also my man i want him to win a title

Sat Apr 28, 2007 1:27 pm

Warriors are whoopin that Mav butt right now, i dont know why they give the MAvs so much trouble.

Sat Apr 28, 2007 1:39 pm

Go Warriors!!!!!
It's not hard to figure out why the Warriors are killing the Mavs. Don Nelson is a great coach who has had experience with Avery Johnson and some of the Mavs themselves. The team is playing unselfishly and they are not letting the Mavs get easy shots(except the Mavs had a couple good looks at the arc, but luckily they missed). If Chicago eliminates the Heat, then at least the Warriors might eliminate the Mavs.
Also, how could I resize an image? Imageshack is not working for me because their choices of size doesn't work for me and I don't have Photoshop.

I use Ifranview to resize my images for Myspace, a great, pretty easy program. Google it.
