Bulls make trade....

The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired guard Eddie Basden from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for forward/center Martynas Andriuskevicius, General Manager Danny Ferry announced today.

Basden sucked last year, so some more height couldn't hurt. Just hope he's better then Schenscher.

Dunno what this trade would do for either team, but id rather Basden than Marty, ANY DAY.

You obviously haven't watched Basden, HORRIBLE free throw and jumpshooting, couldn't even crack our team. Was in the D league almost the entire end of the season. This guy is not good, we were high on him at first, but then we figured out that he had no jumper, stamina, and the only thing he could do was play D which we have plenty of on our team.

Martynas gives us more height that we can use to replace Schenscher. We've needed another big for awhile now, which we've got now with Martynas.

C: Wallace / Sweetney / Andriuskevicius

PF: Brown / Thomas / Allen

SF: Deng / Nocioni / Khryapa

SG: Gordon / Sefolosha / Griffin

PG: Hinrich / Duhon / [roster spot]

Doesn't look to bad to me. Best team in the East IMO. We have a ton of depth and Skiles will definatly use that to his advantage.

That is a lot of depth. Hopefully marty's been hitting the weights room hard, and then he might be able to get a bit more than just garbage minutes. And he's only 20. Great deal Pax. (Y)

basden was a undrafted rookie. this Martynas dude was at one point rumored to be a lotto pick. on paper looks like an ok deal for the Bulls

Basden was allright in the minutes he got. problem was he didn't get a lot of minutes and possibly he wouldn't have made next year's roster

Martynas may end up in the DLeague all year. a center w/sf skills? yeesh. at least Luke would try to bang you a little

I like the trade a lot, Pax just got something for nothing (Basden would have been cut anyway), but the chances of Andriuskevicius panning out are practically non-existent. He has the worst frame I have ever seen, short arms, long neck (is only 7'1 without shoes and those arms and neck make him play much, much smaller), has no post game and is strictly a jumpshooter. I can't see him being anything more than a poor man's Primoz Brezec (smaller frame, shorter arms, worse inside skills).

Great trade, even if Andrius never gets significant minutes.

Andrius has potential for a strong upside and he comes to the Bulls at no cost. Who can say no to some free lottery tickets?

I don't know what Cleveland sees in Basden...they probably could have just waited for Basden to get waived by the Bulls and gotten him for free.

Seems like an OK deal to me. At the very least it can't do any harm.

pretty nice deal for the bulls.. don't know wat the hell cleveland was smoking when they made this deal though... like maes said, cleveland could have gotten him for nothing.... maybe they wanted to clear out cap room or something

I don't really see Ben as a sellout, it's not like Detroit drafted him or anything...hell they could have had him for a 2nd round pick and they (nor any other team) picked him up. They got him as part of a consolation prize for involuntarily losing Grant Hill to Orlando.

That's like Atlanta calling Boris Diaw a sellout.

i think the point is that, he established himself in Detroit over 6yrs (hard work & unselfishness), and instead of re-signing he went to Chicago for more money.

if your implying i'm bitter then you couldn't be further from the truth. It's just business, life goes on.

anyone see Chicago Bull Ben Wallace jerseys on sale yet?

i was thinking of buying a reebok Chandler jersey, which is on clearance for only $30(lol) and then bringing it to a printing place to have them change the name on the back

the jerseys probably depend on how he does in the season.

if there's any noticeable increase in his game or the Bulls performance b/c of him, then they'll pop up everywhere.

next season's the year of the t-mac and amare comeback though....more of those jerseys should resurface.

I wonder what would happen to Ben Wallace if the Bulls end up picking Greg Oden in the Nba Draft

This could be interesting, but I doubt he will make the team.
