Perhaps, but my guess is that the Heat will probably want to hold onto Haslem, for better or worse.

At least we are in the playoff picture with JO even though it might be first round exit. And also carries 20+ expiring just like T-Mac. With T-Mac, the chemistry I think will be worse since his natural position overlaps with Wade's.

Yeah. Undeniably, he's valuable. And he's been Heat for such long time along with Wade. Any Heat fans would hate to lose him.

Modifly wrote:I think differently. The risk is definitely there, but it's definitely worth taking. Like I said, it's a win-win situation. Experiment with T-Mac. Give him starter's minutes and see how he performs. If he plays well and helps the team then great, if not just bench him.

In the worst case scenario, the team would fail to make a playoffs, or disgruntle Wade when we got a resigning to take care of at the end of the year. It's probably safer for Heat to finish as strong as possible to resign Wade. Besides, without JO, we only have undersized big mens. And Beasley is showing glimpse of promise too and T-Mac will want to become a second option over him. T-Mac experiment obviously will be a fail, and I think most of you know that it's more likely to fail too.

It's not that T-Mac will want to become a second scoring option over Beasley. True, he will want that but if T-Mac lands in Miami, won't he automatically be the second scoring option? And I dont think the T-Mac experiment will be a fail. If you watch some of the Rockets game when T-Mac was playing this season, preferably the game against the Clippers, you will easily see that an injured T-Mac is way better than a healthy Ariza. Ariza just flat out sucks but that's besides the point. My point is this, if T-Mac lands in Miami, he will be the second best player on the team even if he's not 100% healthy. Giving him 30 minutes or so for a couple of games couldn't hurt the team more than giving Alston 30 minutes a game. He will make a positive impact and if not, just bring him off the bench. The only way this experiment could fail is if T-Mac sucks like Redd did this season and I doubt that's going to be the case. From watching those games he played limited minutes in, it's very easy to see that he's not his old self any more and he'll never be the same T-Mac we used to see, but it is also very easy to see that he makes a lot of difference when he's on the floor and he makes his teammates looks a whole lot better. Ariza, who doesn't even know how to dribble, was raining threes when T-Mac was on the court with him. FYI, Ariza is shooting a subpar 31% from the arc and 37% from the field. Why was he raining threes when T-Mac was on the court with him? Because Ariza was wide open as a result of the defenders surrounding T-Mac everytime he drives the lane. This is the same case in Los Angeles. Ariza always had good look from the 3pt line because he had Kobe and Gasol on the team to pull the defenders' attention away from him. This is why Ariza is so overrated. I'm drifting away from the point here because I'm flat out sick of Ariza but my point is T-Mac opens up a lot of rooms for his teammates when he's not scoring. He's not a ball stopper.

McGrady might be the second most talented player the Heat would have, but I really doubt his performance is going to make him the second most effective player on the team. Especially considering how he's performed over the last five years. And this Heat team has nowhere near the defense (or offense even) of those Rocket teams.

Really, you're citing the Clippers game? 0 for 1 is raining threes? He shot the lights out from three against OKC, 2/3 was the first quarter (7/12 minutes with McGrady) but he goes 3/4 from three in the second without McGrady anywhere near the court. In the other four games he played with McGrady he's shot a combined 1/16 from three. (And that's the ENTIRE game, I didn't bother to look just at McGrady's seven minutes per game.)

Well i figured T-Mac time in Houston is probably over by now, I been hearing that the Rockets have a huge interest in Anthony Randolph, but highly doubt that deal can be pull off due to McGrady's contract.

Omg,what a fail.
I've just readed an article that T-Mac could be traded to the Knicks, they say that the Rockets want one of the new Knicks Rookies.

How is that a fail? In terms of talent it's not an even trade but since McGrady isn't playing anyway and they wouldn't be getting terrible contracts in return, it could be much worse for the Rockets moving forward.

Yeah, have read reports about the Knicks wanting to hold onto their rookies, who aren't even part of the rotation. The Knicks also, I beleive, stated they aren't confident that they can get Mcgrady as there are reportedly, 7 other teams interested in T-Mac.

When I refer to the Clippers game, I'm talking about T-Mac's performance, not Ariza. Ariza just flat out sucks every game. He's so horrible the Rockets cant even trade him away now. Whatever though, the point I really want to get across is that T-Mac at his worse is still way better than Ariza. I can't believe how much I hate him right now.

Ariza doesn't suck, he is just playing the wrong role. He is supposed to be a 3rd or 4th option, and capable defender, and right now he's trying to be a franchise player, which he'll never be. Trevor needs to realize his limits as a player, and try to revert back to his Laker role.

Re: Tracy McGrady "I'm playing tonight"

Exactly. Ariza is a perfect example of a role player trying to do too much.

Hopefully the Rockets' sake, it'll happen when Yao returns next season.
