If Kobe didn't hit that late three that put the Lakers up by 1, if Kenyon Martin didn't miss that wild hook shot off a pass from Billups, if JR Smith didn't launched so many not-so-wide-open threes, if Billups didn't had so many turnovers, if Carmelo was as hot as he were in the first half, if Trevor Ariza didn't return from the locker room, the Nuggets could have won this game.

Hmmmm , Carmelo cooled down at 2nd Half ( 0 FG , 1 Made FT )
Sun May 24, 2009 3:38 pm
Still a close game that's contested in free throws.

And if Chauncey did got hot in this game, they should have won. Damn L.A.!

good game by the lakers, not great.

and only if the lakers could have done better from charity line, it would have been worse for the nuggers. it was an awesome game overall, close one. lakers were trailing almost whole game and finally was able to get a lead in 4th and after a couple of exchange of leads, finally came out with a win.
mr. big shot clearly wasn't himself. all the nuggers were playing bad in second half, ill advised shots and not good ball movements since billups couldn't get it going all game long. they looked like selfish individuals playing on their own. i also didn't expect melo to melt away in second half like that. he just couldn't get it going after a great first half.

Seems like the Nuggets are back to their old selves when Billups isn't playing well.

Shades of Game 1 with a really tough loss for the Nuggets but what can you say, both teams were in it until the final couple of plays and the Lakers were the ones who got the job done down the stretch. I'm hoping the series can go back to LA tied, I'm not ready for this one to end.
The refereeing has been pretty atrocious in this series, though it's not ultimately deciding the games because it's happening both ends so the inconsistency is consistent and balancing itself out. Some of the calls are really eye-rolling though, some really weak touch fouls one minute and then non-calls on blatant hacks and bumps the next. I suppose as long as both teams are benefitting/suffering from it then it's at least fair, but they can't seem to make up their mind about letting them play and calling it tightly. It's not ruining the series but it's annoying all the same.

I'm hoping that Nuggets will even this series as well. I wouldn't mind both conference finals and NBA finals to last 7 games each. It's way more exciting than any playoffs I can remember.

A win is a win. Great game.

Bye Bye Nuggets

When did a win became a loss for the winning team anyway?

The Nuggets lost because of the sloppy plays, and the technical fouls. I believe that the officials still aren't consistent with the calls, for both teams.

Good game by the lakers and I HOPE that they can take the nugget's sorry ass off the playoff branch soon. LAKERS ALL THE WAY BABY!!!

This is what I'm talking about. They arent benefitting any one team in particuliar, but the fact that they are so wishy washy about their calls is just irritating to sit through.
Good game by LA, horrible FT shooting and bad first half but they regained their composure. I was glad to see Ariza be back in the game, I was kind of nervous when I saw him walking to the locker room. Lamar Odom is amazing, honestly. I really hope he comes back, I love this guy. When Gasol is facing the basket he's just too good for Nene/Birdman.
Was kind of sad to see Carmelo looking so down...then I remembered LA won so not so bad.

Does anyone have gif of Kobe doing "epic" face after hitting the three
Mon May 25, 2009 7:52 am
I think I deserve some mad e-props for riding Trevor Ariza's balls since his rookie season. That dude has blossomed into such a fantastic role player that is capable of playing both ends of the court.
If only cklistie was still with us... He was probably the only other person to man-crush him harder than I do.

I recall you & him praising Ariza so much, when I heard LA got him, I thought we got a bonafide superstar in some sort of steal, guess you guys pumped him up too much for me. But after watching him play you realize he's a great guy and knows his role.
I love the SF position of LA. Ceballos, Fox, Rice, George, Walton and Ariza. All pretty much likable guys. (Well some could argue about Fox...)
