It certainly looks like it's going to be. It's games like this that are the source of my pessimism.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

As i saw today, Bulls are able for the Best and the worst performance in so little time.
Ok, if the won the next game it will be like the win in Boston never happened, i'm not so optimistic as half day ago, but i still believe in Bulls to so sth good the next games

Go Bulls!!!!!  :proud:

great game huh? about time the celts started to play the way they can. even without kg i say the celts should pass the bulls in 5/6 (no more crap like last years hawks series) go 6-7 games next round and probably (damn it) lose to the cavs in the eastern finals

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

It's the game I expecting both teams to have at some point in the series. Needless to say, I'm not as enthused about the result as you are. ;)

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

wow. Celts brought their A game. bulls brought their Z game. not even VDN's premature timeout calling affected this outcome. gotta give the away team credit

andrew- coming into the series i don't think the bulls should be winning it (like wut i was saying earlier- sacrificial lamb haha). after a few games (even after last nite's stinker) i think they have a chance

on offense- even if Brad miller is turning into turnover king, he needs to be playing more. Boston has made it's adjustment on Rose. the bulls need someone setting those picks for him to be a perimeter threat/know how to roll to the basket. thomas & noah are giving the celts free passes by just fanning out after the screen/making weak cuts to the basket

the quick shot offense works for the bulls in transition/secondary break. but when they do it in half court sets its hurting them. too much forcing bad/contested shots

bulls have enough problems with Pierce and Rondo on defense. if perkings & bbdavis continue to get those o'Rebs, the bulls are in trouble

Bulls started good, but The Truth said "It will be a wake-up call." The Truth is true now. May be Rose can carry the Bulls to Game 7. Bravo Pierce!

At least one win in Chicago would be nice. Did you end up getting tickets?

Game 5 will be shown here on Wednesday morning. Could be an ugly one but if it turns out to be their last game of the season, at least I'll get to see it.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Ye of little faith. This is going to be a 7 game series. The Bulls have been a 50 win team since the trade and the Celtics are without their best player. Chicago played bad in Game 3, but this one is far from over. The Bulls are one of the best #7 seeds of all time.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Mon Apr 27, 2009 5:27 am

Nice game for Rondo and Rose. The Bulls are playing well so far but Big Baby had some decent plays. Exciting match.

Edit: oh Gordon ties it up with 4 seconds left in OT. Bulls are now doin better in 2nd OT but I still would not count out the Cs.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Bulls should lock this one down. 34 seconds, 5 point lead. Play strong defense, run the clock, knock down freethrows.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

And they almost blew it! I thought the first game was the game of the year, but this tops it. This series is the fucking shit. (Y)

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Horrible last possession from Boston, Rondo should have pulled up or hit Ray Ray off that screen. Even if they missed, Mr Baby could have tipped it out for a 2nd shot or something.....

...anyway, great entertaining game

Solid point, this should have been looked at not as a battle between 62 and 41 win teams, but between 55 and 50 win teams. With Powe gone, and Scalabrine and Glen Davis as your crunch-time players, there's your seven game series.

Ben Gordon is clutch!!!!

Derrick Rose almost had a fucking triple double, but 7 turnovers kinda cancel it out. :?

We have ourself a series now. (Y)

drives me crazy that we had rondo shooting a jumper to give us the win. the ball should have been in allens hands and if not give it to paul, really pissed me off when that happened

Welcome back, optimism, oh how ive missed you..

Anyone doubting that this is the pick of the first round matchups?

What a win!
I'm sure this is the best match-up from the first round so-far!
Great game from both teams, but also so many turnovers!
But it was great!

I know, I'm having a hard time kicking the pessimism but like I said it has its benefits.

I feared Game 3 would be a preview of things to come and a swift change of fortune for the Bulls but then they go out and get a great win like this. Not much else to say (especially since I haven't seen the game yet) but the series has officially exceeded by expectations since I picked the Celtics in five. Let's see how far the Bulls can go from here.

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

I really hope the Bulls can kick the Celtics' ass a couple more times. I'd love to see Pierce's face when his team faced a first round exit.

What is with all the hating on Pierce and Boston :?:

Who's mother did he rape?

Re: (2) Celtics Vs. (7) Bulls

Everybody's when he said he was the best player in the world. He seemed to get more credit, possibly due to him being the long-time Celtic, but Garnett has obviously been the center piece of their success.

I'd love to see Pierce's face when his team faced a first round exit.

All you have to do is look at it from his first round exits in 2003-04 and 2004-05

The games seem pretty scrappy so far. I'd like it to go 7 and hope the Celtics win so there is more of a possibility of Garnett returning. I'd like to see a rematch from last year, or a Kobe/Lebron final.

Feeling a year late on this, but Pierce carried the Celtics throughout the season last year. He always started the runs to negate deficits, made the plays that got Ray Ray 3s or got KG open, and carried the team when the bench players were in while Ray and KG caught a breathe.

This season was different with Rondo stepping up higher, the emergence of Senor Baby as a great role player, and a more equal power on court between the Big 3, but last year the team relied on Pierce to make it all work. In the "team sport" argument, I would call him the "best player in the world" last year. Mainly due to what his presence did to defenses and the options he was able to control on offense with or without Rondo.

I don't doubt Pierce's value to the Celtics last year, but I still think KG was the center piece and a backbone even for last year, somewhat like what Duncan has been to the Spurs. It would have been tough to win championship without KG for someone else, but I think it would have been possible with some similar caliber player for Pierce. Well... just my opinion tho.

As it's becoming more and more guard's game, I think it's easy to discredit how important big men can be.

It's the downside of success; you inspire a lot of dislike or even hatred, simply for being good...even if you were loved as the underdog. Pierce's boasting probably doesn't help matters nor does Kendrick Perkins' words and actions in general, but if it's any consolation I reckon the Lakers remain the most hated team in the league.
