Wow, are you slow or something? I make mention that you should read the previous posts in the thread, so you read all of my posts. That makes sense to you?

Actually, it does. Your posts are part of the thread

Nothing. They do have to do with the fact that someone posted a reply stating Elton Brand is one of the top five power forwards in the league. I posted my opinion.

That you backed with absolutely nothing. Just a bunch of 's and

lol... Is this a joke? You quote all of my posts, one of which clearly states that given what the Sixers currently have, Elton Brand was the obvious choice. Now before you reply saying "liekOmg, than y r u tlking bout Josh Smith?". I said that because someone stated the CLIPPERS will either go for Josh Smith or Emeka Okafor to fill in the loss of Maggette/Brand. I said if I had a choice of Maggette, Brand, or Josh Smith, and I was the Clippers, I'd choose Josh Smith.

But one of them states that if the Sixers didn't have Iguodala then you'd take Josh Smith. Didn't we read all of your posts?
In what aspect, besides age, is Josh Smith a better option than Brand? There's a chance he might be a star some day. But Brand is already a proven player.

Oh, was this your attempt at being funny? Oh... Good one.

And that was your attempt at sarcasm? It was actually a similar scenario, with different players.

I know Iggy is a great defender, but he needs to be consistent.. In their first round sreies against the Pistons, he was the one who guarded Rip and Tayshaun.. Rip averaged 19.7 PPG, and shot 47% from the field.. added 5 rebs & 4.5 assists.. Tayshaun averaged 16.3 PPG, shot "66%" from the field and 40% from 3-pt distance.. And he just averaged 13.2 PPG in that series shooting just 33% and 14% from 3 and 4 turnovers a game.. He has to work on his outside game.. He should be one of the top offensive options for the sixers so instead of guarding the best scorer of the opposing team, there would be that wing defender that could guard that top scorer.. This would lessen the chance of foul trouble for Iggy and he could concentrate on his offensive game..

Agree. Consistency is his biggest problem. It's like he defends or attacks, but can't do both in the same game.

Andre Miller would have a difficulty in guarding bigger SGs. Thaddeus is long and athletic, and has all the potential of being a great wing defender, but he still has to develop, he is not that mobile and defensive-minded enough to guard the likes of kobe, lebron, melo, wade, t-mac, etc...

Yup, but Miller's good enough to keep them in check at least. Not a shutdown defender, but a smart one.
And about Thad, he'll get there. Trust me on this one. Quote me in 2010.

I love Iggy, He's Athletic, Defensive, he's got his all-around game, I just feel he needs to work on some parts of the game, especially his outside game, especially now that Brand is now with them, he'll be expecting some open shots, as opposing teams will look on doubling Brand in the post..

Just for the fact that now there's an inside prescence their (Iggy, Thad, Lou) shooting will improve, IMO. Now they'll get some open looks instead of shooting most of the time with a hand on their faces.

I see a lot of potential for Young.. I really don't have to quote you cause I know he'll be a special player.. LOL

They really have to improve their outside shots.. Since Korver left, their outside shooting has been horrible.. They don't have a legitimate 3 point shooter..

Hmm... Woudn't I'd be ironic, if Clippers would manage to sign Iggy... Talk about passing players... Anyway, i agree, they need a good outside shooter now. Could they sign Posey?

Sun Jul 13, 2008 6:31 am

I don't think so. It would be stupid to let go Iguodala now that they managed to create this interesting trio. They have to do anything to keep him.

Sun Jul 13, 2008 2:37 pm

I don't think they can get Posey.. They even traded players away just to clear some cap space for Elton Brand.. and Posey wants a multi-year deal at the maximum mid-level..

Yeah, only option right now is a trade, but who the hell wants Willie Green? Maybe an WNBA team.

The WNBDL.

Didn't Billy King get hired by some other team? There might be an opening there for him to make some "reccomendations" to the GM.

Bobcats? Since Billy King is Larry Brown's personal pet.

Brand rejoining with Miller reminded me of this:

Iguodala's a restricted free agent though so I don't see that happening.

Well, It's not impossible...

Mon Jul 14, 2008 11:02 pm

I didn't say it was impossible, just unlikely since his restricted free agent status allows the Sixers to match any offer sheet he signs. I'd be surprised if they just let him walk.

Tue Jul 15, 2008 2:23 am

I think it's great for the Sixers and for Brand himself. I don't like the fact, that Thaddeus Young's minutes will go down.

Tue Jul 15, 2008 2:42 am

They might move Young to the SF spot and Iggy to SG to go with a bigger lineup.

Yeah, that's what I assume too. Iggy is only 6'5" or so anyway. I have the Miller-Iggy-Young-Brand-Dalembert 5 in NBA Live, and it is very solid.

Tue Jul 15, 2008 6:04 am

Oh yeah, I forgot that there's only Willie Green on the 2-guard spot.
