doubt it, for a couple reasons. 1 i am pretty damn lazy when it comes to those things so thats a big strike and 2 i am used to it now and it would feel weird without it.
however, if i did change it would be of pierce not kg. dont get me wrong, kg is great and all, but paul has been the celtic from the start, imo its still his team
Wed Jun 04, 2008 10:56 pm
And if you change it, you'll lose the distinction of having the biggest avatar of all the NLSC.

Ouch.
Maybe Boston will be like one of those fat shirtless guys you see on games who have their body painted with their team colors.

Oh good Lord, if Boston will grow up like that, I wonder how Sauru will treat him.

I'll go for Celts in 6 games...Man, I just can't wait to watch the games...And yeah, just for one game, I'd like both to wear the old school jerseys, then the Lakers would wear those short shorts only to find out that they can't shoot and lose the game just like the last time these teams met in LA...
GO CELTS

kobe would feel violated if forced to wear old school shorts again lol......

i have already told my wife that he can grow up to be anything or act anyway he wants with 2 exceptions, 1 he cant be a laker fan and 2 for the love of all that is good and holy he cannot be a yankee fan. i already fear him becoming a georgia bulldog fan since everyone and thier dead cat sam seems to be on that bandwagon around here

I know this is stupid thing, but since I just couldn´t wait for the game(28 hours to the game), I "played" it on Live 05(watched the game while CPU played), and so I wanted to be realistic as possible with realistic rosters, ratings, matchups, minutes, sliders etc.
Celtic won 109-106 with Allen with 3 on the buzzer! I know this again sounds stupid, but I enjoyed the game(lol), especially late minutes. At start it was pretty stupid, Lakers were way taller at some matchups and so thanks to Live-s logic, they got stupid amount of blocks, Kobe, Radman and Gasol combined 10 blocks in just 8 minutes. So I changed Lakers D to zone, so there wouldn´t be that much 1vs1 and so blocks also. Lakers won first quarter 29-17. In the second Boston was already behind by 18, so I thought this was over, but it got interesting, they came back and they were @ the half only behind by 3points. Boston took over the control in the 3rd and so they were leading 87-77 at the end of it. Gasol and Bryant both were in a bit foul trouble. Since it had bit too high score, I lowered the tempo. Boston kept leading in the fourth, but Lakers didn´t give up, and they tied 95-95 with Radman 2+1. Boston took again the lead 103-97, but Lakers weren´t giving up as they tied 23 seconds before the end of regulation, Gasol had 2 FT, fouled by KG and 5th foul. Celtics had the last possesion, they passed in the left corner, Garnett to Pierce, Pierce back, Garnett to Allen, Allen back at Garnett(4 secs to play), Garnett passed to Allen who was open at the 3 and he shot, it turned around the basket, but it went in at the buzzer. Yeah, I know this sounds stupid, but I enjoyed Live game without playing it, it had the Finals tension. Still, even with my efforts it wasn´t very realistic, Radman shot way too much, especially in the first(18 shots, while Bryant had 19), there were still huge amount of blocks, especially from Gasol(12) and Bryant(7). Bryant had only 18 points, including 5 FT. Boston attempted 105 FG, while Lakers 96. Rebounding was pretty OK. KG had a kickass game, 29 points, 12 rebs and 6 blocks, shooting 65%
Top players:
KG(look above)
Allen 27,5,3, but only shooting 36,4%
Pierce and Cassell combined 27 points
Perkins 7 and 10
Gasol 16,8 and 12 blocks
Odom 18, 11 and 5 blocks 82% shooting
Bryant 18, 0, 3, 7 blocks
Radmanovic 15 points and 5 blocks
Fisher 14 points
And so my prediction for this upcoming game is 109-106 for the C´s (hopefully)

The X and I played out Game 1 ourselves last Friday after the Lakers had finished off the Spurs in real life.

It was an awesome game. X came from behind to beat me but I managed to make it close by staging a short comeback, which was too late in the end. I think it was a 4 point loss to the Celtics. The real life series should be good. Unfortunately, I got exams on so will miss games 1-5...

ratrac, you might want to learn what paragraphs are. I don't read walls of text..as I stated earlier in this thread... but atleast your post was useful unlike the other one. I will say one thing...I doubt the series will be that high scoring. Remember that the celtics are the best defense in the league and they aren't known for being a big scoring team themselves. That's precisely why the cavs did so well against them all season.

anyways, I really don't care for either team. but despite my disdain for Kobe, Sasha, and Chris Mihm, I still am a Laker fan at heart growing up watching Magic, Kareem & the Forum so I can't root for the Celtics. plus, I'd like to see Odom get a ring. and Ariza. that is all.
I feel the same way I live around the corner form the forum where the lakers used to play grew up watchin Magic but no way in hell Boston is gettin this trophy in 08 Go Lakers!!!!!!!!!! cant wait for the parade

I am still a Houston fan - no jumping on bandwagons.
And the Lakers are too good this year. As someone said above, Celtics are really depending on Ray Ray's stroke. When he rains threes, they win. When he doesn't, it often resulting in a close game (won't say they lose).
Lakers, however, has many offensive options. The old Kobe one-man show, now added with the Triple Threat, and many 3 point shooters like Vujacic and Fisher, this team is close to unbeatable.
I would like to see how Boston treat all these plays defensively.
Thu Jun 05, 2008 1:09 pm
this is bostons only chance imo, they need to win it this year cause i dont see the team being any better next season, i do however see the lakers being near unstopable next year

Hey Gandalf..uh..Saurumon...eh Sauru (see, I'm clever, giggle)...will you buy Boston his first jersey this year when LA wins it all and change your avatar (because it's just so important I know) to a picture of him in it?
I'm just dying to know...plus it's a useful post and all, you know?
Some people just try too hard.

1. i will never buy him a laker jersey
2. he already owns a jersey, 2 infact 1 pierce and 1 brady
3. i caught the sarcasm just wanted to answer anyway

I'm gonna fuck off work at midday. Drive home, stopping on the way to buy a whole heap of crap food, and possibly beer.
Sit in front of the TV and watch the Lakers commence their 6-game victory.
Good way to spend a birthday, me reckons.

Sauru, bro.. about your comments

~Full agreed with you. Ah.. I mean i want Lakers to take it this seasson too... But next year... lol i don't wanna think what will happen with Bynum in the starting 5 (if there are no other injures ofcourse)
And anyway as a lakers fan.. I hope that they'll win.. But if i have a son.. I will leave him free to chose his favourite team and etc... He have this right.. In my opinion

That's one of the reasons I'd like to see the Celtics win. I'd like to see them cap off the biggest turnaround in league history and for the Big Three to finally get a ring. I also believe Kobe and co will be back sooner rather than later so they'll have another shot. That said, no matter who wins the Celtics could probably make at least one more run but their window is smaller than the Lakers'.
Fri Jun 06, 2008 4:29 am
Imo, Boston has a good chance getting back at the Finals again next year. Eastern conference teams are jokes right now. Only the aging Pistons seem to be a threat and other teams only possess potentials.
Boston's roster will be upgraded w/o doubt next year. They should easily attract decent players due to this year's achievement.
Btw, I think Boston will be able to protect their homecourt for tonight.
Prediction: 91 - 86 for Celtics
Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:20 am
i am worried that the celtics will not be able to keep a few of the players they have now, let alone trying to get new ones
Fri Jun 06, 2008 7:27 am
Maybe Kobe jumps over whole defense, but falls on his hip, hurts it and can't play few games, and Celtics win ? Damn, that'd be easy win.
Fri Jun 06, 2008 9:14 am
Thats not what a true basketball fan would want to see. Lets see the lakers lose at full strength.
