if they're playing Hornets, I rate them about even shot to beat them....I've earmarked Hornets as a likely 1st Round victim, regardless of seed....hopefully I'm wrong though, but in the West, it would surprise me to see 3 of the 4 teams in the 5-8 seeds win in the 1st Round (Suns, Mavs & Nuggets).

yeah, whatever, i dont want to see the warriors beating any team in the first round cus it make the playoffs less interesting

How the hell does it make it less interesting without the WArriors? Or did you forget that the WArriors made history last year?
Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:01 pm
Yep, then ruined the rest of the playoffs by denying us a real conference final.
Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:06 pm
Oh yeah that musta sucked seeing upsets! Damn you must have loved it this year when it was all #1's in the final four this year! haha, plus aren't Jazz like one you're favorite teams? Weren't you glad that they made it?
Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:12 pm
I actually did like the 4 #1's. High-quality team's playing high quality basketball.
I do like the Jazz, but I also like the Mavs. I would rather see a tight series between a team I hate and a team I like than a team I hate completely pwning a team I like.
Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:17 pm
Wait what? A tight series between you hate and a team you like is what? I am so confused by your wording. Are you trying to say, you would have preferred a Mavs- Jazz series? Everyone knows the Warriors defined the playoffs last year.
Also Davidson did a lot better vs. Kansas than UNC did
Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:27 pm
What does "defined the playoffs" mean?

Its not a riddle. Team I Like V. Team I Hate (7 games) is better than Team I Like V. Team I Hate (5 games).
What do you mean by defined the playoffs? They got killed in the second round, depriving us of two great playoffs series (maybe 3 if Dallas made the finals). If they defined the playoffs, than the 2007 Playoff definition would be: "meaningless".
Sat Apr 12, 2008 1:13 pm
Nice win of Dallas to win a playoff seed and the most good part is Dirk getting his first game-winning shot of the season(i think?). I hope Dallas goes to the second round so that they wont disaapoint me(again)

Warriors game is finishing and now they will be tied with the Nuggets for the 8th spot.
Kings edge the Hornets, who are now tied with the Lakers in the 1st spot, the Spurs and the Rockets are half game behind them. Tomorrows game between the Lakers and Spurs will be one of the most interesting games of the season! What a Western Playoff Race! Best in years-
Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:42 pm
The Nuggets don't deserve the playoffs. Believe me, I hate the Warriors, but damn... the Nuggets are blowing it.
Sun Apr 13, 2008 3:21 pm
The Nuggets still own the tiebreaker with a slim lead in their conference record so the eighth spot remains theirs to lose. Their final two games are against Houston and Memphis, both in Denver, while the Warriors finish their season with a game in Phoenix followed by a home game against Seattle. That leaves both teams with a game they should presumably win and a game against a playoff bound team but with the Nuggets playing both games at home where they are 31-8 and the Warriors facing the Suns on the road where they are 21-19), Denver would seem to have a golden opportunity to take care of business and hold on to at least tie with Golden State.

I was at the Warriors game last night! The crowd went nuts as soon as people started chanting "DENVER LOST!" and as the score was put on the big screen. It was incredible! But yeah, it seems unlikely that Houston will beat Denver or Warriors beating Phoenix. Let alone both happening...

Losing to the Jazz in Salt Lake City is hardly "losing" it. The Nuggets earnt the 8th spot with their win in Oakland and it would be a tragedy if they don't make it.
Mon Apr 14, 2008 10:06 am
Haha "earnt"

but they are only blowing it cause they are in the west, if they played in the east they would have only lost 3 games all year

They lost to the fucking Sonics.
Mon Apr 14, 2008 12:09 pm
They only lost to the Sonics because Seattle played damn hard to avoid another embarrassment (168pts) it shook Denver up and they couldnt get into the game really although it went into double OT to full credit to the Sonics they wanted that win much more than Denver. I'm pretty confident that the guys can grab the 8th seed but if we play the Lakers i think we have no real chance and will probably get swept but if we play the Hornets then i think we may be able to take them to 7 games after all its their first time in the playoffs with Paul i think? so it will be a new environment for him.

they only lost to the sonics cause they were worn out playing in the west, if they were in the east they would have been so well rested they might have dropped 200 on seattle

Denver would have a top four seed if they were in the East but they've still dropped eleven games to Eastern teams this season so their record would probably be about the same. The East may be the weaker conference but every team in the league is potentially capable of beating anyone else if all goes well.
Meanwhile, today's game is a must-win for Golden State and even if they are victorious, they'll need Denver to lose their season finale, otherwise they're still out on the tiebreaker.
Tue Apr 15, 2008 12:56 pm
Well, Golden State is loosing right now 57 - 69
It seems that Dallas wont worry about being defeated by Golden State in the playoffs.
Tue Apr 15, 2008 12:59 pm
Dallas has had the Warriors' number all season. not to mention, a 7/8 conf. finals matchup is extremely unlikely. Hope the Suns keep this up. I hate the Warriors.
Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:10 pm
Since the Baron Davis trade, I hate them too.
It shouldn't matter now with Paul in New Orleans, but I need a team to hate.
Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:23 pm
Hate the Heat. I've been doing it wince 2004, and now its finally fashionable.
Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:26 pm
Warriors are now beating the Suns 88-82
