So far this season, he hasn't, and it's really shown (look at the Lakers record). However, I don't know if he can stick to it all season. So far though, his mindset seems to have changed for the better.

Thu Jan 17, 2008 8:49 am

So why are you talking about him jacking shots and his "do-it-all" mindset from previous seasons when the thread is about this season? Yohance went off at everyone else who tried to bring up previous season...

Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:01 am

I'm just tired of repeating myself.

Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:37 am

Because I seriously doubt he keeps it up all season.

Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:46 am

You're predicting the future now?

Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:51 am

this season?? we shouldn't only consider the individuals, we should consider how they manage to win... since winning is everything in sports...

*who's the no.1 team thus far in the hardest conference??? with the multi-champion and current champion spurs??? the high scoring suns??? the mavs with the reigning MVP??? with the run and gun warriors??? the ever emerging CP3 of NOH?? and the young hot Blazers??? i bet that the cavs won't be in top 8 if they were in the west...

*and who's struggling in the east (5th)??? with only boston and detroit ruling?? 5th is a struggle since they were the eastern conference champs and they are behind the arenasless wizards... maybe even caron is better than LBJ this year....

so for 07-08 so far... i'll go with Kobe... last year kobe had a good year, but they are not winning unlike the cavs, last year i'll go with lebron...
if lebron had to deal with the varejao and pavlovic earlier this season then kobe had to deal with the bynumless lakers for 2 months... so let's see what happens...

BIG GREEN wrote:Yes...but most of them are picking kobe in every category but leadership. Who's truly the underdog in this topic? My point is...at no time to this date has Lebron been considered by the masses in the basketball world to be the best player; even when he made the finals. That essentially makes LakersRule24's point moot. There is and was never any "hypocrisy" when it comes to the two of them.

Which is why Lebron won the ESPY's as the best player in the league?

Players don't win, teams do. To compare players, you compare players, not the teams they play for.
i think even caron is better than LBJ this year....

You have got to be kidding me.

The Wizards are better than the Cavaliers. This does not make Antawn Jamison or Caron Butler, even combined, better than LeBron James.

The Lakers and Cavaliers may be playing better or worse because Kobe or LeBron are playing better or worse, but you cannot infer that Kobe and LeBron are playing better or worse BECAUSE the Lakers and Cavaliers may be playing better or worse.

The Lakers are tops in the West, what does this tell us about how good Kobe is playing? Nothing.

if jordan and magic aren't winning will people vote for them as the best players? i wouldn't!!! who were cosidered the best players who played the game?? Bill Russel (9 titles) MJ (6 titles) you will never hear Malone (2nd overall scorer in history) & stockton (alltime asts and stls leader) as the best players... charles barkley??? reggie??? ewing??? ELGIN BAYLOR (with wilt and west) elgin is one hell of a scorer?? but he's not even close to be the best player...

it's all about winning...

The Lakers are tops in the West, what does this tell us about how good Kobe is playing? Nothing.

are you kidding me??? nothing??? this debate is over dude.

So Michael Jordan, the most dominant player seen post-Wilt, you would not consider a great player if he had no rings? You would reject Magic Johnson, likely the greatest point guard in league history, if he had not played on a championship team?

Nobody talks about Malone and Stockton on the short list of great players? Seriously, you're going to make this claim?

Will Perdue has four rings, John Salley has four rings, Robert Horry has seven. Are these guys all-time greats, while Malone and Baylor aren't?
this debate is over dude.

Yep, just like someone with no valid argument, declare the debate over in order to quiet those pesky people continuing to undermine your claims.

granthill33, What the fuck? You come into a thread about disccusing two players and make your own parameters for discussion by saying we should discuss teams and other players? Seriosuly, please shut the fuck up and leave the thread. Go find a pinoy fucking thread or something.

Warn your pinoy friend to stop talking shit. Adults are trying to have a proper discussion.

you're an obvious LBJ fan... i put a decent post about LBJ and kobe about this season and benji starts saying that kobe is not woth it at all... no wonder BIG GREEN gets into fight with tommi in the la thread and this lbj dominated thread,,,

and i think you hate Pinoy... that's against the rules dude...

If all pinoys were posting crap like you...I think everyone would hate them. Re-read my original post and stick to the parameters of the thread n00b. If you have a problem with it...make your own thread.

hahahaha,, i never thought you have such a sophisticated mind... you're giving me a headache..superstars are different from role players... did salley score 25+ ppg? did perdue block 4 bpg?? robert horry? thats a very strong contender right there,,maybe you're right..  , so horry is better than LBJ.. haha. i'm not posting again here. thank you.

Since you have edited...I will respond to the parts I can fathom what you are saying.

Wait, now you're using statistics instead of team success.
lunatic wrote:so cavs get in to the finals last year, what does it tell about LBJ?? nothing???

Correct. It tells me about the Cavaliers. It does not tell me about LeBron James' performance. I can infer performance, that because LeBron is important and a large part of the team, he must have done something right if the team was winning, but that does not make it a fact, LeBron may very well have hindered the team and it was everyone else playing well.

Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:45 pm

Well, Lebron James makes the final basket tonight to beat the World Champion Spurs. He finishes with 27 points, 7 assists, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks. What does that reprisent to this thread? Desire? check, clutch? check, defense? check.

Kobe is up next against the suns tonight on TNT...let's see what he does shall we.....

Fri Jan 18, 2008 1:52 pm

So if a Kobe fan posts about an individual game it's stupid, pointless, proves nothing, bad debating... a LeBron fan however :P

Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:22 pm

Difference is...i'm not saying it proved anything. I'm showing his continued "desire" etc. Silas tried to say one game proved kobe was the best player...that's the difference.

BTW..i'm a kobe fan as well. I was hoping they'd beat the suns tonight but oh well.

Fri Jan 18, 2008 4:43 pm

I never said it proved anything, I said it gives a great explanation, big difference. You think if I was going to use a single game to prove a point about Kobe I'd take that one?

All I said was that it gives a great explanation as to why I feel he's the superior player because he demonstrated so many facets of his game.

Fri Jan 18, 2008 6:21 pm

Reality is, LeBron will be better than Kobe, it's obvious by the way he's playing.

Is LeBron already as good as he's gonna get? Has he reached his peak, that we do not know.

ok, what ever makes you happy i respect it, i respect your opinion, you have your own look & i have my own, i have my opinion and you dis agree, so okay.
of course non of us is going to win if we don't stop, so to end this, you win, i lose, your insights are far better than mine, i accept that.
this is a forum where you express thoughts and everything you want.
But still it's my opinion (whether it's good for you or bad for you) i have no control of what you want to say or think.
i hope we're equal and you're happy since i call your statement delusional and you call me lunatic.
i hope you understand what i'm trying to say, you win i lose, i hope you're happy :D i have no intentions on saying any thing that would attack anybody.
:D

For 07-08 season i still vote for Kobe. thou they lose tonight, vs the suns.
