I understand your reasoning on drafting Baron third, and though I feel Baron a better player than Rip, it makes sense to not send him to the Grizzlies. But, I think Shawn Marion would be a better fit there. He's versatile, and much more all-around and better. He's been an all star without Steve Nash so I think he'd be able to bring a lot to that team.

Shawn Marion should be 2nd, and Rip should be 4th. Everything else looks pretty good I must say. Some may argue Ginobili should go higher, but I personally don't like him, and your right about that "gone in Europe for several years thing" because that certainly does lower his stock. Lottery guys are expected to play "right now".

I agree with you. I was thinking exactly that when I read it. Marion has been an all-star in the west for 5 straight seasons (opposed to Hamilton's two in the East) and despite being undersized, would have been a much better pick that Rip.

Otherwise, great re-draft. You better have da Kandiman somewhere in the lottery.

Actually, its pretty strong. It had an MVP in Dirk (who chokes and doesn't defend, but undoubtedly was the best talent in the draft), franchise players Carter and Pierce, decent PG's in Bibby and Williams, and overrated former Warriors and Wizards teammates Larry Hughes and Antawn Jamison.

Not the mention plenty of decent role players like Ricky Davis, Olowokandi, Bonzi Wells, Raef LaFrentz and Ruben Patterson.

84 draft is imo the best draft class ever. not only did the 84 draft give us 4 hall of famers it also gave us alot of high quality roll players

seems like the consensus is to go with Marion at 2 & that he wouldn't step on Reef's feet as he's versatile enough to play either forward position....

its very true, he's proven he can play either forward spot. I think their inside out game would be much better if Shareef played the PF and Marion the SF.

as I mentioned earlier, yeah, I agree Marion would slot into #2....I don't think I would have Odom over him though at #2....I'm not going to change my original mock that I posted, but yeah, after looking at it the last day or so, it was a slight mistake to put Rip at 2 & understating the versatility of Marion. So unofficially I have Marion at #2, & without looking at Clippers' roster, I'll chuck Rip at #4....

I don't think I'll have Marks in lottery....if it was a re-draft of the entire 1st Round, yep, I definitely think he would be in the top 29 (or 28 if Wolves lost their pick that year)....

the funny thing is with the re-drafting, I have come across articles by sports writer along the way, blasting selections of players like Pau Gasol who wouldn't be ready to impact for years, but praising picks like Tractor Traylor....it's good for a laugh & also shows the unpredictability of picking based on potential....

I mean, Korver's OK, but what can he really do beyond shoot?

I guess gets a fair number of steals, but steals have been statistically shown to have very little correlation to winning. He has mediocre penetration/dribbling skills, is at best an average defender, doesn't rebound particularly well.

Of course, and I realize that him stating that Korver should have gone #1 was sarcastic, yet his avatar, signature, and previous posts all lead me to believe that he really does think Korver is one of the best players in the league. I'm just curious as to why.

If I'm wrong and he's merely adopted a Stephen Colbert-like meta persona designed to lampoon the very thing he claims to be boosting, then I missed that somewhere.

My intention is certainly not to lampoon the reputation of Kyle Korver.
