These threads are back. Unlike last season, the top seeded Spurs are the team everyone wants to face in the first round. This now respected bunch could keep their 50 win season streak alive despite the shortened season, are injury free and are peaking at the right time.
The Jazz meanwhile return to the playoffs thanks to the Nets giving up nearly every asset they had for a year and a half of Deron Williams. They have a strong big man rotation on Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap and Derrick Favors, along with former all-star Devin Harris and most improved player candidate Gordon Hayward in the backcourt.
Unlike last year's Grizzlies, who tanked to play the Spurs, Utah made it thanks to an implosion by the Rockets and don't have all-star talent or depth. I expect San Antonio to work them in 5 games.

Spurs in 5, cause, well, the Rockets didn't make it, sure.

Spurs in 6, Jazz will get some wins on the home court, but Duncan will go old school.

^ Agreed on that one. The Jazz are underrated, and their home court will go spastic and will them to some games, but the Spurs are on a mission this year. Spurs in 6.

I understand, five straight years of joke poll choices is hard. And the Spurs in 4.

Rockets in 6.

Spurs in five. As has already been pointed out, they're a tough team to play at home and I expect they'll pick up a lone victory in the series there. I think that'll be it for them though, with the Spurs being healthy and playing some excellent basketball as of late. They're a legitimate contender to win it all, I don't see them going down to a respectable but overmatched Jazz team.

Spurs in 4. I don't think the Spurs want to have a repeat of what happened last year.

I dont see the Spurs making to many fastbreak points against this team as the Jazz' Bigmen are also quick to get back in defense, not that I can say the say for Tim Duncan. But with a better coach like Pop, an older Spurs can still beat the young Jazz team in 7 games.

Really? You think the Spurs will win it in 7 games?
So I take it you are the only one that voted the Spurs to win it in 7.

The Spurts lost to the Grizzlies last year. Not that I think the Jazz can pull the same but I can see how people are going for I-told-u-so bet on the Jazz here. After all match ups are known to matter in the post season and Duncan vs Jazz frontcourt don't sound one sided.

Spurs in 5 or 6. Spurs is too much of a good team.

Spurs in 6. Hopefully they're ready for Griz in Conf Semis

Spurs in 6. At some point they've gotta start going backwards, right? Right? Not this year. Parker/Harris is a nice matchup as is the Duncan-Blair/Jefferson-Millsap-Favors matchup. It could be fun to watch.

I think Utah is coming in extremely underrated...

Spurs in 4, Jazz doesn't have what it takes to pull an upset, unlike the Rockets, and underdog team for the past decade and a team i would expect to give the Spurs a real fight.
Fuck Spurs in 4, Spurs in 3 maybe

Great game for Parker and Duncan. I'm with fully confidence in this team.

They overpowered the Jazz in this game looks like Parker And Duncan still has a game to an NBA Finals
Mon Apr 30, 2012 9:07 am
is it just me or were Tony Parker, Stephen Jackson and Tim Duncan the only players that played well last game for the Spurs?

I think that almost every player in the Spurs played well. Manu was great from the bench, Boris Diaw also have a good game, Bonner was big from the 3pt line. And they also had a great game in defense.
