Things looking good for Vince

Postby SpItFiRe on Sat Jul 26, 2003 6:09 am

Although this summer has been filled with controversial issues regarding some of the NBA's players, I'm happy to see that things are looking bright for Vince Carter once again. He is replacing Kobe on the Olympic squad. It was already known that Kobe would be sitting out due to the recent shoulder surrgery.

Also, it was announced yesterday that Vince Carter's 3rd Annual Charity All-Star Game (Aug. 1st) will be the first charity game in NBA history to be televised. The game will be carried on NBA TV and showcases many other superstars as well as a few Toronto favourites. (Y)

Anywho; I'm happy for Carter, hopefully he can avoid any injuries this coming season and show people his potential.

Jason Duncan you r the biggest dumbass. VC better than kobe? Check the stats. Kobe, 24 3 rings, VC 26 and bare fingaz so next time think, i know it hurts for you.

I would have rings if I played with Shaq....and so would VC....so shut up and don't use rings as a comparison. Also, Kobe's been in the league longer and didn't go to three years of college, and also, VC isn't on trial for rape....so age and ring comparison doesn't really matter, now does it?

I thought VC was playing for the whole olympics?

Yeah, Vince replaced Kobe on the qualifying Olympic squad, but it was discussed by the organization that anyone who plays in the qualifiers should deserve a chance at the next round(s).

Vince isnt close to as good as kobe. Kobe plays through injury and dunks on everyone. Only God knows how good VC will be but chances are he wont be as good as he used to be. At no point of time did vince go on a 8 or 9 straight 40 point game streak.

VC is good but will never be as good as kobe. What you are saying is that VC is closer to MJ like than kobe which isnt true. Just cuz VC dunks on everyone dont mean shit. Kobe dunks on everyone. Kobe's got a better J.

Is anyone besides me wondering how kobe gets more points than VC and he still has shaq on his team? VC should have been putin up tmac numbers, actually better.

Kobe is better than VC offensively and deffensively the three rings do matter alot and the fact that he is on trial has nothing to do wit his play on the court. Truthfully in my opinion if Vince doesnt show up this year he gonna start turning into a lost cause like Penny and Grant Hill did after injury...but i do hope he comes bac to his old ways cause the east needs him but he still aint better than Kobe.

Apparently you guys have no idea what injuries and not playing does to stats

As for Kobe having rings and Vince not....Kobe has Shaq. Period. If Kobe didn't have Shaq, would he have three rings? I'd say no...and if you say yes, you know nothing about the NBA

Whoooopedee doo....9 straight 40 point games....VC would be right up there in ppg with Kobe and TMac if he was healthy last year. You can't say anything about him if he doesn't play, and supposedly he'll be healthy this year, so watch out....

A streak of games and rings don't mean shit with individual player comparisons. My mentioning the trial was me making a point...that has as little to do with their game in direct comparison as how many rings each of them have does....but apparently that was missed, as was the fact that Kobe having 3 rings at age 24 (VC was a rookie when he was 23, Kobe was a rookie when he was 18...see the difference) does...please, use some fucking logic before posting.

Kobe plays through injury

I very much doubt he'd played through the injuries Vince had. The ankle sprain maybe, but Vince sat that one out because there was nothing to gain anymore at the end of last season.
