kingjames23 wrote:2) to achieve the exact same thing Jordan did. 6 titles, both by way of threepeat. (although there was a much larger gap between titles for Kobe, and MJ did the semi retirement thing)
3)to actually win more titles than Jordan did (Kobe is only 31... and could play another 6-9 years... time enough to get one more at least, but i dont see this Laker team as we know it staying a force forever, so catching Russell in the ring department isnt going to happen. )
kingjames23 wrote:the Spurs? seriously? only if they land a huge free agent and bring in a whole lot of younger players. the Spurs are too old and worn down. they aren't even one of the top 5 teams in the league anymore, top 10 maybe, but not an elite team anymore by a long shot.
kingjames23 wrote:Kobe only has 2 finals mvps because he played with Shaq, who was in his prime then... and Shaq deserved those finals mvps.
MJ never had a dominant big man like that.
i also never said Kobe was as good as Jordan.
statistically there is no comparison. the comparison is simply that Kobe is proving himself to be as much of a winner as Jordan was. if Bryant ends up with 7 titles, only Russell will have lead his team to more. considering Kobe has just hit his prime, the lakers have a fairly young team with a lot of talent and the best coach in the league its not unrealistic to consider this happening.
Sauru wrote:first of all kobe has not lead his team to 5 rings he has lead them to 2 rings the first 3 he was the second banana. secondly, jordan could have had shaq in his prime on his team and that mvp still goes to jordan.

Rip32 wrote:I agree that he was second banana on two of those teams, but once that Nets' series came about, we saw Kobe transform into the alpha dog. That change obviously didn't bode well for the Lakers' chemistry, but by the time they got back to the Finals in 2004, Kobe was "the" guy on the Lakers.

You've figured out how Kingjames keeps making this prophetic predictions. The voices tell him its true. Between this and the picture in the Random Thread...you've won the internet for the week...congratulations.
Kobe is winning because he finally has help. what about all those years between shaq and these two wins? Kobe struggled to get to the finals until Pau came to town. Gasol deserves MVP and G.O.A.T chants solely for his beard just about as much as Kobe's will to win matters.
Jordan > you

Thus, just a suprior team. Kobe being the leader and a whiny bitch
Nothing more than that.
