(2) Magic Vs. (3) Hawks

Postby Lamrock on Mon May 03, 2010 5:19 am

After the deer were revealed to be innocuous, the Hawks steamrolled Milwaukee in Games 6 and 7 to prevent the upset. Now the East's least interesting playoff team earns the right to be shat on by Orlando. Orlando is far better than Atlanta, but with the volatility of the three point shot, and Atlanta's strong home-court, I think the Hawks can steal a game.

Orlando in 5.

My heart wants to say Atl in 7 but my mind was telling me Orl in 6 so I chose Orl in 6. Last year Orlando had the tougher matchups in the playoffs having to go through a determined Sixers team in 6 games and the Celtics in 7 and Cleveland was the one who had it pretty easy in the playoffs blowing by Detroit and Atlanta each in 4. So far Cleveland has the tougher matchups this year.

Magic in 6. I see the Hawks taking two home games, but the Magic have too much fire power. Nelson, Lewis and Three-trus have picked thing up in the Playoffs.

I suppose there's the eternal question of rest vs rust and I don't think Atlanta will be swept, but I don't see them knocking off the Magic either. Magic in five.

Marvin Williams is actually playing well, they are +7 in fastbreak points but the Hawks are playing like shit. Magic did hold a 20+ point lead in game 1 of last year's conference semis, but this Magic team is better than last year's.

 I give up! I hate Orlando for dominating the Bobcats and now they have the pleasure off crapping all over Atlanta.
I can't bring myself to click the Orlando is 5 button, so I said that Mike Bibby was black instead. That's the most voted answer!!!!

On the bright side, they won't get blown out by 61 like the Hornets did last year. (Y)

i would love to make some excuse to back them up but damn the Hawks got slaughtered. Joe Johnson has already refused to re-sign with them and is going into free agency this summer and if they get swept then it may not be such a good off-season for them.

It's not good when J.J. Redick drops double digits on your team.

Losing Joe Johnson wouldn't be the end of the world, but it would be a setback. Without cap space, Atlanta's best option is the aging John Salmons, who I expect to be re-signed by Milwaukee and/or overpaid. Possibly the worst thing about it would be Crawford's potential promotion to the starting five.

Magic in 5. They have too much power. Dwight, Carter, Nelson + nice role players. Hawks can win one game, possibly two at home, but that's all.
