ASW 2010 H.O.R.S.E. Event

So, it's been moved to Saturday night. The field has also been set: defending champion Kevin Durant, Omri Casspi and Rajon Rondo.

Didn't Durant say he was sticking to simple shots and less trick shots this year? Sound strategy of course, but eliminates a lot of the entertainment value from the event.

At least it's on a time where I'll remember it's on.

The shots last year weren't tricky at all, the players weren't trying hard enough and had no lift until they started taking shots from the stands.

Regular jumpshots and freethrows will be more than enough to knockout Rondo  .

We'll see, I got Rondo FTW (take a guess why)

awesome that it is a part of the Saturday night festivities rather than some sideshow
Opinions are my own.

Isn't it still part of the pre-Saturday Night festivities rather than the official event itself?

It was pretty lame last year. Having some random rookie and a guy whose worst skill (next to free throw shooting) is shooting won't make it any better.

Should have put Rondo in the skills challenge and had Nash in this.

I thought as much, but reading Jon's post made me think that perhaps I'd misunderstood what I'd read. In any case, they probably won't show any of it here.

Durant probably wants a better award this year, not some plastic horse. The participants are weird, especially Casspi.

Why not Ellis? He's been making some trick shots, lately.

Exactly. Nash is more creative, thus he should be in the HORSE (or GEICO or PEPSI or whatever it's going to be) competition. Rondo is in the same percentile as Nash in dribbling, passing and making layups which is 95% of the skills competition.

Wtf? They all got a letter already for some random shot the TNT guys picked to be the best fan-made HORSE shot? Isnt it if everyone misses, NO ONE gets a letter???

wtf is this.

It was obviously done to speed up the game. Although i call bullshit also.
Rondo is surprisingly showing a good amount of touch on his shots. Him and KD are on another level from Casspi shooting wise.

It's bit painful to watch this event. Players are uninspired but cheerleaders like Kenny and Charles are keeping this at least watchable.

That was a stupid move by Kenny to pull that kid out randomly.

I was entertained by that at least

this seems like a lot better than last years, but I've only been watching the last 30 minutes or so, so I missed the first half of it

Its more entertaining. I dont care if theres no winner...the potential for the insanity shots to go in is worth it. I was gonna yell really loud if the table shot went in. Credit to Rondo and Omri for at least TRYING to make it interesting even if not succeeding

I loved Charles's comment regarding a shot over kid who was wearing Mav jersey.

"I have a problem with this. I have a problem with this. Mavericks don't put their hands up in defense" or something similar to that. :D
