lets compare teams like 2010 lakers to the 1998 bulls or celtics 2008 to da 85' celtics
Heres Mine:
Lakers 2010 Bulls 1998
Kobe Bryant Michael Jordan
Pau Gasol Luc Longley
Ron Artest Scottie Pippen( yeah i no

)
Derek Fisher Ron Harper
Lamar Odom(hopefully he stays) Dennis Rodman(yes for me lamar is like a rodman cuz lamar rebounds more than artest)

Simply typing players' names next to each other is not really a comparison
Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:57 am
yeah i jus noticed dat
Tue Jul 21, 2009 8:13 am
why do you wanna compare. is there something to prove?
Tue Jul 21, 2009 8:19 am
dis thred iz wak dawg

The Lamar to Rodman comparison is pretty ridiculous. I'd think a Kukoc comparison would be a lot more reasonable.

Blasphemy

Much as I like old Luc, comparing him to Gasol is pretty insulting towards Gasol.

agreed, Rodman can't play 5 positions like Odom and he's not gifted offensively (minus the 3 straight treys and the occasion mid range jumper that goes in), while Odom isn't exactly a rebounding freak that can lead the league in rebounding for 7 straight years, or make the all defensive teams...Kukoc is a much more realistic comparison when it comes to my man LO

my view exactly...

He might just want us to think that the '10 Lakers will be like the '98 Bulls.

he's not doing a very good job at it

They're more comparable to the '92 Blazers than to that of the '98 Bulls I reckon...
Tue Jul 21, 2009 12:44 pm
I would compare the '10 Lakers to the '04 Lakers.
Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:35 pm
i wouldn't compare the '10 lakers to any team.
Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:38 pm
Why? Because they're so unique and fantastic or is it because each teams are different and are unique in its own way?
Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:44 pm
no because they haven't proven anything yet.
Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:46 pm
True. Great answer.

But in that respect, I'd compare them to the 2010 Boston Celtics. They haven't proven anything yet either.
Thu Jul 23, 2009 1:20 pm
Then would you go on to compare to them to all the teams in the league because no one has proven anything for 2010?
Thu Jul 23, 2009 1:28 pm
But we know for a fact that some teams will definitely suck while some teams definitely wont. Eventhough no one has proven anything for 2010 we're capable of making a fair prediction on how they will perform.

Pretty much.

Though you could obviously narrow the comparisons down to teams of similar strength that have made noteworthy offseason acquisitions.
