NBA.com wrote:TORONTO (AP) -- Chris Bosh doesn't plan to sign a contract extension with the Toronto Raptors this summer and is preparing to become a free
agent at the end of next season.
Bosh is in the final year of a deal that will pay him $15.7 million. While Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo has spoken optimistically in the past
about signing Bosh to an extension this summer, Bosh said that isn't his intention. He said leaving his status up in the air could actually help both
himself and the Raptors, who missed the playoffs this season with a 33-49 record.
"[When] I signed a three-year [extension in 2006]... I had a goal in mind, and that was to put myself in the best position [in 2010] ... I'm thinking I
just want to stick to my goal, stick to what I was doing," Bosh told reporters. "That's a part of the plan ... I just want to address things [after] next
season. There's a reason why I did things the way I did them back then."
Should Bosh become a free agent in 2010, he'll join a crop of players that could include LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire and Steve
Nash.

Again, nothing new.. ESPN had this info a while ago.
But, if talking about this, I believe it's the same thing as with LeBron. They want to win, so they act like that to make their teams think more about getting stronger, not saving money.

What's up with the extremely shitty threads you make?
This isn't news. This is obvious. Anyone with half a brain would have told you that Bosh won't sign the extension.
Seriously though, you almost have me convinced that you're some malfunctioning stat-bot that some poor programmer let out into the internetz for the lulz.

I'm praying either Bosh or Boozer come to Dallas

Bosh being the next Vince Carter? I am sure if he signs elsewhere he will probably get booed like when V C plays in Toronto.

You weren't here when a certain bot name McDwyane/xbox360/or whatever his other usernames are was posting here. Which makes me wonder who has the better programming language, MikeMan or McDwyane.

If Raptor fans boo Bosh I will officially give up being a Raptor fan.

Joe Dumars is in Toronto right now

Very smart move by Bosh.Raptors have a chance to get in the NBA finals like 2070 or so

Their dynasty got hit since VC left.
Damn, Bosh and James in Cavs would be very nice combo, unfortunately we don't see it.Cavs need a decent player/another scorer next to James.Or their maximum will be Eastern conference finals..

They won't fit in with Nowitzki ( same playing style , high-post players )

That's for sure .

Way to be a dickhead by going around and correcting everyone.
Fending in the dark with the Mavs. The Mavs could do with a second big-man scoring threat to spread the floor and Bosh is from Dallas which means there's a slight chance he'll sign there. But they won't be able to go for him because they don't have cap space in 2010 and lack the lure of other places.
If they boo Bosh in Toronto, that's classless. VC forced his way out like a little girl. Bosh isn't really doing that.

I second that. At least Bosh would leave with class, unlike VC. But him leaving all depends on the outcome of the upcoming season. I'm guessing that if the Raps can at least make it past the first round, Bosh will stay.

any player wants to be champion. with which team this is accomplished would seem like a lesser priority than that.

They should've hired a Run n Gun Coach instead of Iavaroni to fit their style of play .
They have a pretty decent line-up ( for the East ) , that line-up is a 44 win or more/less team , I'm sure they can reach the Playoffs next year .

Get your facts straight. Sheesh.

No surprises here. Had the Raptors racked up 60+ wins during the regular season and been in the thick of the championship hunt perhaps it would be a different story but at the end of the day an NBA player is like anyone else in the workforce; they have to do the right thing by themselves and their families and to that end, keep their options open. I think it would be very admirable if Bosh did remain in Toronto but if he found another opportunity preferable then I don't think anyone could fairly fault him for that.
As for him being booed, that's a pretty old-school sports fan mentality and everyone's entitled to their own feelings and opinions on these matters but I agree it would be tremendously unfair given the circumstances. If he complained or sulked his way out of Toronto that would be one thing, but at this point I don't think Bosh would be deserving of that kind of animosity.

i'm honestly clueless as to why everyone assumes the Raptors need to be a "run and gun" team. It clearly didn't work the first 1238429 times they tried it and it certainly won't now. Sam Mitchell tried the ridiculous "run and gun" style and it had absolutely no effectiveness at all because Bosh couldn't get his touches that way. Then the Raptors tried being a half court team by centering their offence around the post play of JO, but that also was too stagnant and killed Toronto's offensive possessions. Despite how lanky he is, Bosh relies on the half court game with quick execution in order to be effective. Calderon also is notoriously known for being a fast break killer (although the injury probably had more to do with that this season).
Edit: By the way, Iavaroni is widely considered one of the important architects of the Phoenix Suns' style of play back when they were heavily reliant on outscoring their opponents. So basically the point you're trying to make is kind of uninformed to begin with.

It doesn't quite confirm he's leaving Toronto though. I heard the Q&A thing he had with members of the media, he's basically making his decision on team performance. Said something along the lines of "it puts pressure on both himself and the organization to perform". He's right in that regard; Colangelo will need to be able to put a competant team together and for the team to atleast perform, while Bosh has to play well also. If that works, he'll sign a new contract with Toronto. If not, we'll see where he goes to. If he signs elsewhere, he'll probably the best fit in terms of bigmen to Dwight Howard. A Howard-Bosh frontline would be freaking scary.
