It seems some of the older veteran free agents such as Webber and PJ Brown are still considering whether to return for another season. It wouldn't surprise me if they wait until the season has begun to make a decision. Latching onto a team later might be more difficult given questions over chemistry and established rotations, but both Brown and Webber are still capable enough of contributing that teams looking for that final piece might take a chance. A later start to the season would have also given those players a longer rest and saved their legs for the end of the year and the Playoffs, since they wouldn't have been weathering the NBA grind since October.

Webber has said he only wants to play for Detroit.

I CBF getting the link right now, but it was about a month ago...

We don't want him now though. If we need to, will probly pull of a 2-for-1 trade midseason to make some space for him.

The free agents should form their own team.

Gary Payton
Earl Boykins
Sasha Pavlovic
Chris Webber
PJ Brown.

With Allan Houston and Anderson Verajao to provide some spark off the bench.

He supposedly only wants to play with Detroit, but they want to give Maxiell and Amir Johnson a shot. If they struggle then look for him to be back with the team sometime during the season.

Webber should just sign the minimum with either Miami or Boston.

If he doesn't want to play with Boston right now, he's fucking stupid. Webber has had a great career, but going out winning a championship with Garnett, Allen and Pierce would really look good on his CV when he'll eventually be considered for HOF honors.

CWebb would be a great fit for Boston. An excellent big man passer is exactly what you need on a team with a bunch of scorers.

If you know it's not related, why do you post it then? That's like "I know killing someone is against the rules" and shooting someone right afterwards. How hard is it to go to Wikipedia and look up "Keith Van Horn"? They didn't say he retired, though, just not signed:
Wikipedia wrote:As of August 2007 he has yet to sign with a team for the upcoming season.

(Yes, I know that trying to tell the guy that what he is doing is useless, but I'm doing it anyway)

Bump.

Apparently, reports say that Webber is going to come back and choose a team within the next few days. I haven't found an article yet, as I heard it on the Celtics-Wizards game right now.

They said Boston wasn't interested in him, but that's just a rumor.

He's old with bum knees. He's still serviceable, though.

But even when he was with Sacramento all he does excluding rebounding is do the high post at the offense and either shoot a bad jumper or pass the ball (which he is good at).
I still don't get it why he sucked so suddenly. Only reason I can think of is that the bum knees affect the mechanics of his stupid jumpshots.

Warriors keen on adding Webber

I'd suggest that they could get by without him but it couldn't hurt, he wouldn't be signing a long term or expensive deal. If things didn't work out, the Warriors could simply release him and move on.
