Chris Paul surpassed Alvin Robertson's record of 105 consecutive games with at least one steal, picking up three of them appropriately enough against Robertson's old team. Pretty exciting game to watch with the Spurs leading most of the second half except for a brief Hornets run in the third, then a wild finish with David West hitting a couple of the three and New Orleans ending the game on an 18-4 run to win it. Paul also took the lead in double-doubles for the season from Dwight Howard. Rasual Butler might have had the play of the game though, blocking a shot on the fast break then making a steal to start a fast break the other way, which he finished with a jumpshot.

Paul is really great at getting steals he´s just so quick and knows where the ball is going to, something interesting i came across if he wants to take the all time lead on steals he has stay at his current pace (2.33 steals) for 1159 games.
I always forget how good Stockton was.(All time steal leader with 3265 steals)

I read that if he wants to break the record of Stockton he must play everygame at the current pace of steals until he's 37
OMG!

That's why Stockton was so great. Consistency and longevity.

I'd say that's doable, but he's got a long way to go yet.

can't see it happening, nobody beats Stockton....2nd best PG of All-Time behind Magic....

1159 games would probably see him playing for a total of 15 years, with a few years pushing three steals per game I think he could certainly maintain a career average of 2.33 steals over 1159 career games. Whether or not he surpasses Stockton in all aspects as a star point guard in the NBA is debatable but achieving the steals record is certainly a possibility.

his record snapped in a disappointing loss to the Magic just now
108 is the record

That's a shame but edging the previous record was no mean feat.

Or we simply claim them as Australians...until they throw a phone at which point they become Kiwis again.
