Who will win the 2009 NBA Lottery?

Mon Dec 15, 2008 8:40 am

- The last time the team with the biggest odds of winning the NBA Lottery was the Orlando Magic back in 2004 by selecting Dwight Howard.

- In 2005, the Milwaukee Bucks with the 6th ranked from bottom to top won the lottery and selected Andrew Bogut.

- In 2006, Toronto (5th) picked Andre Bargnani with the #1 pick overall.

- In 2007, Portland (7th) seelected Greg Oden as the #1 pick overall.

- And last, in 2008, The Chicago Bulls ranked 9th defeated all the odds and won the lottery and later on selected hometown fella Derrick Rose.

That's why I don't believe the OKlahoma City will not win the 2009 Nba Lottery due to this recent trend explained earlier.

Who do you believe David Stern will grant the joy to select first overall in 2009? and why do you belive so?

Sacramento or Clippers

I'm pretty sure it's completely random with lottery balls....you can't possibly have any reason other than the ping pong balls falling someone's way....David Stern doesn't grant a team with the top pick.

i wish it would be miami, but it's not gonna be, so i'd choose Philly than Clips and Sac!
if blake griffin will be #1, he will be usefull in each city! and it would be awesome to watch any of these team get stronger with him!

I go with OKC. I guess they will be last and gonna have the best odds to win the lottery.
Am I right that the worst team has a chance of 25% to win the lottery?

That is correct. Odd asking opinions about this. (pun intended)

It's not a recent trend either, and what's with the double negation? Plus you're missing a few words in your first point to make sense beauboy (btw; do you know that means pretty boy???). Ok, sry, bad morning for me.

Which also means they have a 75% chance, or 3:1 odds to not win the lottery. And they have the highest odds.

I'd rather try to predict the weather on draft day than try to predict the winner of a lottery (no matter how limited) almost six months out.

EDIT: Oops, forgot I'm not allowed to post if I don't make a prediction. I'll say...the Timberwolves.

Not to stifle discussion here in NBA Talk, but seeing as though we're months away from the lottery, the fourteen lottery teams have not yet been established and it comes down to odds rather than any sort of trend or decision from David Stern, there's not much to talk about except throw out random predictions.
