Source: Heat will take Mayo, then trade him.

I dunno but i saw this on realgm forums, and an article is saying a "source"says that miami will draft mayo and bypass beasley then will trade mayo.

im smellin a lac-mia, cos lac is hot for mayo.

well i dunno if this is bs, or riley's confusion thingy.

realgm. very reliable sources. but regardless doesn't sound like too wise of a choice by Riley if he's going through with it.

i am fine with a team drafting for need instead of best available if they plan to keep him, but why draft mayo only to trade him?

I have heard more news of Miami trading their pick, for ex. to Memphis with Blount for 5th pick, Miller and Lowry/Conley. This deal makes a lot more sense for Miami

* The Miami Heat have found a taker in their quest to trade the No. 2 draft pick, a source familiar with the situation told Pro Basketball News. The source did not indicate which team would be the Heat’s trading partner, or what other draft picks or players are involved.

* The supposed deal will reportedly be announced during or shortly after the draft. According to the source, the Heat will select USC guard O.J. Mayo and trade him. Kansas State forward Michael Beasley is expected to fall to No. 3 -- although not to Minnesota, which is expected to trade down.

looks like it's goin' to happen.

Read somewhere it could be Marion and Mayo for Brand and #7

Wow, maybe Durant can get Beasley. That'd be amazing.

I can't believe how badly the NBA is underrating Beasley. Whoever gets him is getting the best player in the draft by a long shot.

The fact that he is not going number one to the Bulls is shocking to me. He is the best college basketball player I've ever seen.

Think Riley's spent a little too much time in the sun. Paxson must have been there with him... not wanting to take Beasley with the first pick.

All this trade talk is ridiculous. Please take Beasley and call it a day.

The Blazers didn't need a shooting guard in the '84 draft, so they passed on Jordan. I'm not comparing Jordan to Beasley, but still. I think Beasley is sucha a bright talent, you can't let him slip out of your hands. I like Rose going first, but if Beasley drops to three and not even in Minnesota, who might trade the pick, that's beyond me..

The strangest thing about it is that Beasley fills a position of need for both the Bulls and Miami.

In 5 years (maybe even 5 months) Paxson and Riley are going to be scratching their heads wondering what the hell they were thinking.

like i said, going for need over talent can be a good thing but sometimes the talent is just too good to pass up. now mayo could turn out to be an amazing player himself, i wont say that beasley will be the best player from this draft in the long run, i just dont understand why all of a sudden he is dropping to 3rd or whatever when he could(should) have been first

also like indy said he fills a need for both teams
