Australia vs Iran: Bejing Warmup

Wed Jun 18, 2008 3:35 pm

Does anyone plan on watching these games? There's one on tonight on Fox Sports 1 at 8 PM, AEST. I only found out about them by accident but I plan on watching them. Australia took Game 1 87-68.

I was flipping a bit between the Celtics replay and that game, the difference in intensity between the two arenas was hilarious.

I struggle to get excited about watching the Boomers when they arent fielding their best team. If Bogut was there, i'd be more inclined.

Side-ish note: Disappointed to hear that Joe Ingles withdrew from the draft, but he obviously wasnt going to get close to being drafted. Hopefully the Olympics can put him on the radar a little bit better.

I was underwhelmed by the game too. Nice to see the Boomers win so convincingly but a bit boring at the same time, nowhere near as entertaining as the qualifying series against New Zealand last year. I'm not sure if I'll bother with the next game now, I might flip to it in the ad breaks though.

I think Coach Goorijan has got it right. If Aussies are to have a chance to medal, they have to play a lot better. For once, I think we got a talented frontcourt... the Aussie backcourt isn't too thrilling. I don't think CJ Bruton/Patty Mills are realistically going to hold his own against PGs from Russia, Lithuania, and is it Greece who is also in their pool??? You never know though, I would love to be pleasantly surprised.
