"Only the strong survive" - same as Iverson's but Marquis' imaginative interpretation is truly fucked up. Maybe he thought about doing that in a dark time of his life.

Same as about 3 million other NBA players and idiots with no imagination or creativity. The other ones have "Only God can Judge me." I've actually grilled Quis a little bit about that before. He complimented my Pacers tattoo and I said I liked his shotgun one, but the text makes it no more original then a tribal armband. He laughed and said the guy is shooting the text so he's also shooting cliches, I don't believe him for a second.

Why is the Pacers not starting Shawne Williams? Whenever he gets major minutes he seems to really shine. Yet they have Kareem Rush shoot blanks all night long. Murphy is in and out of the starting lineup. Do the Pacers even know what they are doing anymore?

Well, the Pacers managed to end the Heat's 15 game losing streak, and now stand at 19-26. bet still on?

The Pacers are not going to go .500, but I am a man of my word, I'm not about to back out of the bet.

Kareem Rush has actually been excellent. Before today's game against the Heat he's been shooting over 60 percent from the 3 point line since he got the starting role. He is an assassin, and without Kareem starting we'd be in much worse shape.

Shawne Williams is very frustrating. He shows signs of brilliance, and then follows it up with 4 or 5 midbogglingly (word?) terrible plays. He'll dribble straight at a double team, try to split it and fail then sort of jump and twist his body and throw the ball to the other team. He's wildly inconsistent defensively and it really seems to depend on how he's shooting the ball. I remember one game against the Lakers he scored about 26 points and was all over the floor defending and rebounding. He was deflecting passes, moving his feet well and blocking shots. When he doesn't shoot the ball well he doesn't do any of those things.

I'm souring on JOB, and I had the chance to tell him that the other day when the Pacers were in Chicago. We are seeing less and less movement offensively, the defense is regressing if anything and he is continuing to play Troy Murphy over Jeff Foster, which just outright enrages me. Early in the year the Pacers were cutting hard on off ball screens and getting lots of open shots. Now we just shoot 3s and that's about it. This team is nothing like the team we saw earlier this year that beat teams like Dallas, Orlando, New Orleans and Denver. Its as if Jim has decided this group isn't smart enough to run the offense we ran successfully earlier this year and we just have to hope we can make enough 3s to win. That's how it will be for the rest of the season, sometimes we will shoot ourselves to victory, other nights will be like today where we go something like 8-30 from beyond the arc and lose to the pathetic Miami Heat.

Indy is a matter of games away from losing $20  also for them to finish 33-49 which was a "losing bet" they have to go 9-10 the rest of the way.

Bird may leave the Pacers.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Indiana Pacers president Larry Bird wants to stick around for the team’s expected offseason overhaul.

He’s just not sure whether he’ll be orchestrating it.

The NBA Hall of Famer said Wednesday he won’t know his plans until he meets with team owners Melvin and Herb Simon.

“I want to wait to talk to the owners and see what they want,” Bird said after the Pacers’ shootaround. “I will say that I’d like to be here because I enjoy this.”

Bird acknowledged he didn’t want to trade Ron Artest to Sacramento and Stephen Jackson to Golden State, moves made after those two players ran into trouble.

Artest was a primary participant in the infamous brawl with Detroit Piston fans in 2004-05, and Jackson had a troubled tenure with the team that included pleading guilty to criminal recklessness for firing gunshots in the air during an Indianapolis strip-club fight.

This season, Pacers guard Jamaal Tinsley and several companions were targeted in a shooting that wounded the team’s equipment manager outside a downtown hotel. Police said someone shot an assault rifle at the group after a confrontation at a nightclub miles away.

On Monday, Tinsley and Marquis Daniels cut a deal with prosecutors to avoid trial on charges in a February 2007 fight at an Indianapolis nightclub.

That agreement was the latest in a series of legal problems and incidents involving Pacers, including the recent arrest of a murder suspect after he had been at the home of forward Shawne Williams and a reported rape at Daniels’ home. Neither player was charged.

Still, it has tarnished the Pacers’ reputation and hurt attendance.

Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh reportedly has been talking with the New York Knicks about taking over as president. Walsh did not take questions Wednesday, and Bird did not elaborate on the reports, although he said he has seen them.

The Simons have promised changes. But the team could risk a public relations disaster if it fired Bird, a revered figure in his home state.

Bird shrugged off such a suggestion, reiterating he wants to help turn things around.

I wonder if it can't get any worse for the Pacers.

The 04-05 team actually looked good and they could've been title contenders had Artest not charged the stands.

They've been plagued with bad luck since the Malice in the Palace. And I don't really know what the future of this team will be.

Granger seems to be the guy they want to build around as of the moment but doing so seems very difficult. Jermaine O'Neal, Troy Murphy, and Mike Dunleavy are under bad contracts and trading them would be difficult.
