Have you forgotten about the awesome Bulls trio of Jud Buechler, Luc Longley, and Bill Wennington.
Or to a lesser extent the trio of Pippen, Olajuwon, and Barkley.
As Sauru's scenario, if it is a 3-on-3, the Celts would be tops followed by Suns, Spurs, and lastly the Pistons.

Who remember the Bucks trio of Cassel, Allen and Robinson?
I guess the Celtics has the best trio, because the spurs has no good defender except manu, suns has no longer marion and pistons trio i don like

You mean something like this?Jackal wrote:Look at the bright side, one third of the original Bucks big three is now part of the Celtics big three.

What's that guys name again? You know? Probably the best PF of all time? Dunkin?

Why? He's just another moron who made it through the forum registration successfully. I move that we place an IQ test on the registration form.
Sat Feb 09, 2008 10:14 am
Like those skill-testing questions they give you when you win a contest? An IQ test might eventually lead to a deserted forum.
On that note, may I also suggest a grammar test?
Sat Feb 09, 2008 11:30 am
First add a humor test.

The best part is that Manu is not even close to a top 3 defender on San Antonio. Timmy, Bruce and Jacque all defend their position much better then Manu.
Sat Feb 09, 2008 1:46 pm
I just saw it.
He's from Argentina. 'Nuff said.

None of these compare to the Wolves "Big Three" from 03-04 in Garnett, Cassell and Sprewell.
Sat Feb 09, 2008 3:00 pm
If we're going to be homers...
Shaq + Kobe + [Horry/Fox/Fisher]. That three has something to show opposed to KG + Spree + Cassell

I must respectfully and fully agree with you. Any team that sprewell was on was perfect. If he was on the cavs they would win a championship instantly before we even got to the playoffs,
Sun Feb 10, 2008 2:54 am
My fave: suns
Best by accomplishment: Spurs (sorry but manu blows as a defender and is one of the cheapest offensive players ive ever seen. he plays the NBA like its soccer, falling down when theres no one within 20 feet and hoping a foul is called)
Best by accomplishment eventually if the Celts are smart: the boston three party
So now ive been thinking. Sure this topic is about this year. But what about the past trios that have been amazing? Rodman Pippen Jordan, Larry Johnson, Zo And Mugsy ...etc. I miss those days.
Sun Feb 10, 2008 4:32 am
johnson,zo,mudsy should not even be mentioned in the best trios, maybe in a topic about your favorites, but definetly not best
Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:26 am
I wrote it in a bad way, duncan is a great defender in the zone but manu or parker aren't good in the perimeter as bowen or vaughn
and now that Marion is gone... the new Suns trio is Nash O'neal and Amare? , or Diaw instead of Shaq?
Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:31 am
Kobe + Gasol + Bynum > all, other than maybe the Celtic's.
Sun Feb 10, 2008 10:44 am
A trio that hasn't played a game together yet is the best?..ok then

If we're talking trios from years gone by, the best of the best would have to include (in no particular order):
Jordan/Pippen/Rodman
Magic/Kareem/Worthy
Bird/McHale/Parish
West/Baylor/Chamberlain
Russell/Cousy/any one of about five HOFers at one time or another

Well maybe not but i certainly loved watching them and they still pwn in NBA Jam...*idea* maybe i should make a nba jam thread in the games section...yeah i think i'll do that...carry on
Sun Feb 10, 2008 7:48 pm
Spurs trio is the best...they've been the best in past years and up until they lost Parker/Gino were also the best this season.

Donuts.
Andrew wrote:West/Baylor/Chamberlain
Good choice right there. Too bad they have no championship to show with Baylor on board.
Sat Feb 16, 2008 10:12 am
True, that's the main knock on them as a trio. In terms of talent they were an impressive combination though.
