And the war is on...

LeBron lovers/Kobe haters are such asses, just because the lakers got a positive major deal, they start jumping on the lakers when they lose.

Thu Feb 07, 2008 4:14 pm

You know who else are asses? People who don't have the balls to man up to who their talking to. I'm talking to you Veheme....whoever you are.

FYI...if you were trying to talk that shit about me....i'm no kobe hater.

I don't think you mean "90s" but "earlier in the 00s".

Along those lines, you are relieved knowing the addition of Gasol isn't a sure thing for:

a. Kobe to be MVP
b. Lakers getting past the 1st round
c. Lakers winning more

BIG GREEN wrote:With the way everyone was orgasming all over their keyboards in this thread...I was just suprised at how quiet it got all of a sudden. I thought maybe the keys got stuck and no one could type.

Somehow, you felt dominant that the Lakers lost a game even with Gasol on the team and then feel LeBron is truly superior to Kobe just because the Lakers lost. Typical LeBron fan.

I admit Gasol is a good passer so it will open up a lot of shots for the other guys, but tonight he went back to his true form. He doesn't play well against physical play and when he drives he throws up a bad shot, yells, and complains all the way down the court.

You know what I mean, the years where the biggest star of the hawks was mutombo, and a few years later, when jason terry was the star, and dermarr johnson had the hope of the club's future on his shoulders. haha

First of all...dont come on these forums and make fucking accusations about me when you don't know shit about me. I'll warn you now about it...don't start shit. This forum makes discussions...they are no "haters" here...this isn't the nba forums.

Secondly, you're wrong about everything you're saying because I actually want to see kobe vs. Lebron in the finals. Thirdly, their one loss doesn't make a fucking difference to me who I think the MVP is or who he is going to be. Typical n00b.

I havent taken a coffe brake and I definitely wouldnt consider myself a bandwagoner(classes, studying and exams happen).

So yeah they lost but I still take alot of positives from the game.

Six players in double figures with all starters getting over 10 shots and all players who got on court on the scoring list. I was initially concerned that all the shots would run through Kobe, Odom and Gasol (and eventually Bynum as well) but seeing that they were still able to distribute points through all the players who got on the court is definitely a positive.

Lamar Odom had a great game in the loss as well. 17 points and 11 rbs going 8 for 12 is definitely a positive and I think he can maintain getting around 12 shots a game and average withing the 14-17 pt range from here on out.

Radmanovic had another good game so thats definitely a positive as well. Would be great to get anything close to this kind of energy when Bynum returns and though I dont expect huuuge numbers outta him I think he can be production in his role.

Sasha Vujacic had another positive outing getting in double digits and hitting two 3s. This kid and Farmar inject alot of life into this club off the bench so its great that he is continuing to do his thing in that respect.

Kobe Bryant had another night stuffing the assists (10) column but unlike his last game where he had around 7 of 8 turnovers he only had 1. I dont expect him to keep it at this level but its not unrealistic to expect maybe 5 or 6 a game from here on out. He will eventually start making those shots he is missing again plus I'd like to believe that dislocated finger may have something to do with his off shooting.

Gasol didnt have a great game but its definitely a positive that he played 37 minutes last night. I was a bit concerned about his back and the possibility that he was playing through injury just to get on the floor with this club. Playing games on back to back nights I believe can push one's physical limits and it seems he came through ok.

Definitely looking forward to the next game. Good balance in our club right now and its good to know that even on off nights for our big time players we can still hang around til the end.

So... good game.

Disappointing first quarter. Didn't get to watch the game though as our area wasn't showing it.

This win though puts LA at 4 wins to 2 losses on a 9 game road trip. Not too bad for a team on the road, with injury to major players and having undergone a major tweak. If they can steamroll their way against the remaining teams, Miami-NO-Minnesota, that would be a really good sign of how things have changed from the past two seasons.

they went on the road & beat the 3rd best team in East, & you're complaining about a disappointing 1st quarter?!?

I'm guessing the Magic shot the lights out from 3, so you can't be too down on Lakers....they came back strong though so that's the most important aspect of their win....

Simply because the Lakers does not have any perimeter D besides Ariza and Bryant. Odom lets guys shoot on the outside all day, just like when they were eliminated by the spurs with a trey from Finley. And on the inside, Its only Bynum and MBenga who can play D, sure Gasol and Turiaf can block a couple of shots, but still they can't bang. Teams don't go too far if all they can do is trade baskets.

I think LA is overloaded with shooters in walton, radmanovic and coby karl. I think they should bring a defensive specialist. For instance, (theoretically speaking) LA can trade Radman for Indiana's Marquis Daniels. Why this works? Larry Bird loves white players, as evidenced by the murphy/dunleavy for jackson/harrington trade. Overpaying for croshere in indiana. Can you just imagine the possibility of LA fielding gasol-radman-walton-vujacic-farmar together? bigots in every nba board would be laughing their assess off. hahaha

I don't disagree with you there. I myself have said that the Lakers should look into dealing Radmanovic away....I still think Walton has a lot of value in triangle, so I wouldn't deal him....as for Coby Karl, unless you trade him to Nuggets, he's got no value....he's a bench NBDL scrub....

I agree that Karl is garbage.

Luke isn't much of a shooter (unless it's from the corner) he's a better playmaker than anything else. but Vlade & Sasha and even Fisher/Kobe/Odom will have more use with Gasol commanding a double team sometimes on the inside.

I think Lakers will stand pat & see how they go in playoffs, then they will see if their bench needs some tinkering or not, as starters (when healthy), are top notch....

lakers shit their pants against Atlanta in the 4th. Atlanta's athleticism and length won them that game

That is why the Lakers have a guy named Trevor Ariza, He is great on transition offense. And, the game against Atlanta was a back-to-back game...

wait... you are trying to start an argument, aren't you? sneaky sneaky...

Ariza fractured his foot a couple weeks ago.
