Going to NY Next Friday

Sat Oct 20, 2007 8:09 am

I am travelling all the way from UK next Friday to see Knicks play Nets in The Garden, I really can't wait, how does it feel to be there watching the game? etc etc. Random thread I am sorry, but I am very excited :D

Don't be frightened when you see two massive pig-like creatures running on the court. Those are just Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry of the Knicks.

The Garden is cool, I love being the opposing fan at any game in New York.

Although I don't think I would ever sit in the bleachers again decked out in Sox gear at the Yankees White Sox game again. That was genuinely scary.

The Garden is insane...I saw a college game there once, the scale of the place pretty much blew my mind.

I went to Nets/Knicks last season, I wound up on TV. Honestly one of the best times in my life, great experience!

Well I don't know if you know anything about the bleacher creatures, but they are completely ruthless to opposing fans. The entire section stands up and points and you (very much in your face) and chants "asshole, asshole, asshole" for a ridiculously long time. Its like the length of a family guy skit that you think has to end sometime soon, but doesn't.

They also have their own rendition of the YMCA song. It goes "Why are you gay? I saw you suckin some D-I-C-K", etc.

It was a fun experience, I knew what I was in for, but I would at least have to be with more White Sox. I was with my girlfriend at the time (who found the whole thing 'repulsive').

No way. If I had tried to stand up and sing something back I'm pretty sure I would have gotten pelted in the face with about 20 hotdogs. Bleacher Creatures care way too much about their beer to pour it on you.

There's the asshole chant.

There's the YRUGay song. Once they really get going you can't even hear the real song, just the creatures.
