Im gonna say Kobe. Hes will to win and they way he can make the hardest shots look so easy is truly fun to watch. Hes one of the top defenders in the league let alone one of the top offensivep layers in the league.
and can people stop bringing up the "He has shaq blah blah" "we saw penny the same then shaq left blah blah".
coz its just old and boring, coz yous know kobe isnt good coz of shaq.
And penny, well it was injuries that sent his career off track.

Kobe IMO is followed by T-Mac,Duncan,KG and Shaq, also i'd say AI(cant beleive he isnt on the list.)

its not blah blah blah, he does have shaq. and we did see penny the same as we see kobe now--great -- and then shaq left and then orlando didnt make it to the finals and would've never ever again even if penny was healthy. kobe without shaq is kobe without championship, and kobe without championship equals allen iverson, both great players but not the greatest, so its not a dumb thing to bring up the "he has shaq blah blah blah" because it is a definite flaw in his considered being the greatest--- which is that he doesnt carry his team. see shaq injured first half this season for proof.

i think a prerequisite to being greatest, is being considered as the player that carries ones team. do people say put kobe on a team and it becomes instantly a contender? no, they say, put shaq, put duncan.

coz its just old and boring, coz yous know kobe isnt good coz of shaq.

no one of sane mind said that kobe is good because of shaq, kobe is good, but he's better because of shaq.

i'm not saying kobe sucks because he needs shaq. he's good, i agree, and everyone needs their teammates, however good.

what i cant fathom is how kobe can be the "best" when he's not even the mvp of his own team........ does that make me stupid? if so then so be it.

Shaq's presence does not take away from the individual talent and brilliance of Kobe, but it is a factor in the Lakers' success. Shaq remains the most valuable player on the Lakers' roster, his impact on the game is undeniable. With or without Shaq, Kobe would be a great player, but the Lakers would not be as dominant without one or the other.

That's the general argument regarding Kobe without Shaq. He's a great player in either situation, but having Shaq on the floor opens doors for the rest of the Lakers, Kobe included.

actually they did make the playoffs the year shaq left, and that was when Penny started getting comparisons to Magic and MJ.
then the injuries struck him, and getting shot in the ankle earlier in his basketball career wasnt gonna help him in the future.

i said finals, im not sure but i think shaqs last year they made it, i forget, sorry if wrong.

anyway the point to that statement was that orlando with just penny made it to the playoffs just like the lakers with just kobe 'might' make the playoffs, but they just didnt and wouldnt get very far without the big man.

He's not even close to the best.

Webber is so overrated, it's ridiculous.

kobes_4real wrote:Anyway i voted Kobe, why? cause in my eyes he is the best player. I would of voted KG but cause of him never getting out of the first round(will change this year) he shouldn't be considered teh best. Oh and I wouldn't say Tim Duncan is the best all-around player in the league. THat goes to either Kobe, KG or maybe mcGrady. But I feel Kobe is the best, why? cause everyone always says with Shaq in teh paint kobe's numbers are better than what they should be, but why? Kobe's stats, are worse than what they could be if Shaq wasn't there, sure Kobe would be losing at first because he has never been the actually 1st opition. But still kobe will be what MJ was i his early years: Losing, but still the best player. Ofcourse if the wit kobe this summer if that doesn't work out for kobe and he misses games do to jail-time, than of course I think he won't be the best, but at this current time, I feel Kobe is the best player in the league. But of course that is IMO, but there can't be a best player in teh league right now, because everyone has a different prespective of what that means, "The Best Player in the League."

Once Kobe is left alone without Shaq, The Glove and Mailman just see how good he is. He wouldn't of won anything without Shaq.

i voted for tim duncan

Webber is so overrated, it's ridiculous.

when healthy, i think webber is a top 5 player in the nba. he has his flaws and can be somewhat of an enigma, but outside of duncan, i don't think there's any other big man that has the talent of webber.

In somepeople's mind he might be, just because you don't think he is doesn't mean some else doesn't.

Webber is so overrated, it's ridiculous.

yes I agree but still he is still one of the top players in the league so he should of been in the poll atleast.

Once Kobe is left alone without Shaq, The Glove and Mailman just see how good he is. He wouldn't of won anything without Shaq.

He will still be good, he will still average atleast 30, 6 and 5 probably even more cause he won't have to share the offence as much as he did before. But like I said he will be like MJ before he starting winning, "Losing, but still the best player." Anyways Kobe has never played a full season without shaq so you can't say for sure that he will just suck without him, and we can't say for sure that he will be even better because he has never really played a full season without but remember beginning of the 2002/2003 season kobe had back to back triple doubles(33, 12, 15 and 33, 12, 14), two wins? If Kobe leaves the lakers after the season next year(persuming that he wins the case), once he ajusts to being the actual first opition on the team, he might be do doing that(triple-doubles) more often or he may kick his scoring up even more. But we can't never be sure unless it happens. But coming back to your thing, He wouldn't of won anything without shaq, Yes Of course he wouldn't of. But than again, who has won a title by himself, no one. Michael had scottie, magic had kareem, bird had mchale, bill russel had all those other white guys, duncan had robinson, than he had tony parker, bruce bowen, older robinson, etc. no one has won just by himself so you shouldn't expect kobe to win just by himself.

Right at this moment I would have to say Duncan...But when Shaq is healthy, (see 2 years ago) Undoubtedly he's the best...Put him on any team and its a contender simply becuz there is no one in the League that can stop the guy...Hopefully he'll be back to his old dominating self again after trainin with the Marines...

Here's a thought that came to me, maybe if Kobe was put on a team..and there were weaker SG's in the league ( No Tmac/Pierce/Iverson/Carter ) then I think Kobe could lead his team to victory...you have to keep an eye on who is defending...Like TD this year...the only force he really had to go through was Shaq...Stoudemire, Mutumbo/Martin dont count..they are no where at that level...Kobe cannot lead his team to vicotry simply becuz there are guys that can keep up with his pace...(T-Mac etc) In this day and age...a big man is very important...its much easier for a TD to lead a team then for a Kobe to do so...Kobe faces more defensive pressure I think...but yeah its just a thought...you have to look at this..it makes sense..( I think ) :)

agree bout Sahq and training being the best in L currently...But then, you( no u jackal) say Kobe never won with out Shaq, put Shaq on any team and its a contender? Remmeber Shaq has never done anything alone either. he has always had a penny, a Eddie Jones-Van Exel, a Kob' Bryant...
And Bout Kobe and the sg, I disagree...Because Kobe has surpased each one of them, and have had success against them all...except AI, does he even gaurd him?
And yes! Kobe might have Won a championship if he never had Shaq..why? Because he has been in the L for what? 7 yeas, maybe, just maybe (if u guys can look past ur biased) a team ould have been built around him like MJ had one around him......But..like Shaq, Kobe has never been alone so.....I say Tim Duncan is the best player in the L currently, nothing compares to that^ Can MJ even touch that?
how do i make a fancy signature?
