the best "could-have-been" lineups.

Tue Aug 12, 2003 5:02 am

lots of team make stupid trades, and draft stupid picks....... just imagine what could-have-been

orlando:
C shaquille o'neal
PF chris webber
SF who cares
SG who cares
PG penny hardaway

toronto:
C hakeem olajuwan (indulge me  )
PF tracy mcgrady (!!??)
SF vince carter
SG doug christie
PG damon stoudamire

*sigh*

Tue Aug 12, 2003 5:14 am

first of all, shaq and tmac werent traded, they signed with other teams in free agency. Secondly, have u forgotten about their salary?, would orlando have money to pay Shaq, Webber and Penny or toronto to pay Vince, Tmac, Hakeem!!

Tue Aug 12, 2003 5:20 am

This is silly, one thing leads to another, the Raptors wouldn't have had Carter if they'd kept Stoudamire, etc etc etc...

That never could have been...since they traded Webber for Hardaway...

Tue Aug 12, 2003 6:02 am

Wen i think of teams that could of been i think of Washington and Golden State. Washington has had 3 of the best bigmen in the league(webber, r.wallace, and b.wallace). Golden state had some big time talent like penny even though he never suited up for them, c. webber, spree(i know y they let him go), c. mullin, and my fav player tim hardaway. I know they couldnt have these players all at once but keeping some could of been nice. Both teams no r looking good but i hope they dont let players of this caliber get away again.

Also i heard from a friend bac in the day that shaq tried to come to chicago wen mike was their and the NBA(David Stern) wouldnt allow it cause he said it would be a slaughter. And it would be through free agency so the bulls wouldnt lose anyone so........imagine.........

Shaq
Rodman
Pippen
Jordan
Harper(well i didnt say it was a perfect lineup lol)

(Y)

That would be the Lakers team but like someone already said, the trades bring those players, it's not that you would have them a keep those you had before. Still the Lakers squad would have been the best in decades.

C - Divac, Shaq.
PF - Eldem Campbell
SF - Cedric Ceballos
SG - Eddie Jones, Kobe Bryant
PG - Nick Van Exel

Tue Aug 12, 2003 7:02 am

wut about the Phx Suns with Kidd and Nash, Wizards with Ben,Rasheed,Juwan,Chris Webber...

Tue Aug 12, 2003 8:30 am

   i forgot that little trade

by the way, its the what-could-have-been teams which = if players hadnt been traded or decided to leave for whatever reasons or forced trades, etc., etc............ basically teams which consist of their original picks if they had kept them and had stayed (or whatever you want if you want), and i know it isnt realistic (one thing leads to another they wouldnt have gotten that pick, etc. etc.), but what the heck, i'm not a realist  plus its interesting for me at least

revision orlando:
C shaq
PF cweb
SF who cares
SG who cares
PG who cares

yea...kobe was traded for divac so that couldnt have happened...and all of those guys except van exel were unloaded so they could have money to sign shaq...but yea woulda been cool except divac would kick shaq's ass and eddie jones is better than kobe so that woulda sucked to see jones on the bench

In fact, Kobe was the one in the bench, Kobe wouldn't be that good if Eddie were still in the Lakers, but knowing how good he's become, it would have been fun to see them in the same team.

What about the Wolves.

Sheed at SG? It would look a little like that lineup the West featured in the 2003 ASG. :)

Also... If T-mac stayed with VC then they could have opposed Lakers in 2001,2002 and maybe 2000!!!

He was still a Raptor in 2000.

My bad for T-mac in Toronto...

Anyways...HELL YEAH! Sheed at SG...I mean Wiz would still win unless they traded Sheed for a Point guard...Iverson!!

C: Ben Wallace
PF: C-Webb
SF: Juwan
SG: Rip
PG: AI

iverson's not a PG

I mean Wiz would still win unless they traded Sheed for a Point guard...Iverson!!

what is the point of all this...its like saying if cleveland traded boozer for shaq, diop for garnett, mihm for marion, miles for tmac, and parker for kidd, they would win

Wed Aug 13, 2003 1:10 am

yea, this is stupid,, I still didnt get the real idea of this topic,,

its not always the team that trades the players, its the players that want a trade of sign with another team in free agency
