You know what, you are right, he went 12/18, that is 66.6% from 3 point land, if you knew anything, that is a really good percentage!! the most someone averages usually is like 45% or something. Plus most of those shots he had someone in his face. oh and that is a record so who cares how much he shot even through he only shot 18

Just aside here, magius, not to attack you or something, just sharing my/asking your opinion, i don't really think its amazing to score 30pts if u have shaq, what do u expect, shaq to score all hundred points every time, kobe is a great player and if shaq gets double or triple teamed its very logical that kobe takes the other shots(he is the number two option and one of the best SG's in the nba), i think its a lot easier to score 30pts with shaq then without him cuz even if he is not in shape he still draws so many attention u cant leave him alone, i understand when u say like for example t-mac has it easier cuz he is the one go-to-guy on his team but he has to create himself and all the attention falls on him, so i believe a player like that has a little edge over kobe, of course im not taking anything away from kobe, he is a major talent and scorer but i dont think shaq makes it more difficult to score(of curz if gp and malone are on the field then it would be amazing for kobe to score 30+ cuz he would be better of sharing the ball then and let them have their points,of curz if he is on the role u cant stop him, gp and malone or not).

swoosh, i know what you are trying to say, but... if you really watch the lakers games, most of the time, kobe ain't getting open shots, when he does he usually created them for himself or when he comes off screens, or when he is on the fast break. But when lets say kobe passes into shaq, and shaq kicks it out, kobe will be open, but he doesn't shoot right away, he is not a catch and shoot guy, he will than try to take the man coming at him off the dribble than either pull up or drive to the hole(or pass to someone)

But Shaq wouldnt have them without Kobe, who got the lakers in to the Finals in 2000, of couse Shaq was season MVP, but Kobe was the main in Overtime who lead the lakers into the finals. so there ya go, shaq and kobe would only have 2 ring at this time if it wasnt for kobe.

If Vince is on the cover of Live 2004 then obviously EA is expecting him to come back and have a big season. I think with all the injuries and the soft accusations people are forgetting that when he was healthy...Vince was easily the most exciting player in the league...probably the most exciting player I've ever seen. Here's hoping he comes back and keeps pushing the boundaries of Sportscenter...

Well, I guess it's good that Vince may be back. He's not one of my most favorite players but still..another star is always good.

I think a direct numbers to numbers comparison is kinda useless since like most people said, Vince has been injured the last 3 years which skews the averages. However, if you want to, you can compare the best seasons each of them had:

Points: KB 30.0 VC 27.6
Assists: KB 5.9 VC 4
Rebounds: KB 6.9 VC 5.8
FG%: KB 0.469 VC 0.467
3PT: KB 0.383 VC 0.387
and it goes on..

Keep in mind these numbers tend to slant slightly in VC's favor already, not Kobe's, since VC's numbers are not even taken from his recent injury ravaged years, but rather they're from the season prior to his injuries. I say it's in his favor since he may not even be the same player today as he was when he had THOSE numbers. But even still, overall Kobe has the slight edge in stats based on his latest year. The shooting percentages aren't that big a deal. VC IS the better 3-point shooter, but he has really cut down on his slashing game. I think if you need a good 2-guard, he should slash a lot. So as of right now, if you were to pick who the better player is, I would probably lean towards Kobe since he's less injury prone, plays the better overall game, and has slightly better stats.

However, in my opinion the biggest knock on Carter was not his game, but rather his lack of heart, which separates him from the elite in the league. Skill-wise I'm sure he could be on par with Kobe. But he just doesn't seem to have that drive to be the best player in the league, and to prove night in and night out to everyone that he is. He wasn't aggressive enough even when he was healthy and he always seemed too laid back. He's also kind of a wuss. Granted he had some legit injuries, but not ALL his injuries were as bad as he made them look. Sometimes while jumping in the air towards the basket he gets knocked down and stays down. He seems to have a sub-par threshold for pain and it's almost a given that he's not getting back up without making a scene everytime. And who can forget his Nelly concert fiasco??

That's why I say he lacks heart. A.I., KG, or even Kobe play with an all-out attitude all the time. You don't get that vibe with Vince and I think it's a mistake to put him on that level right now. Just my $0.02, but his lack of heart is something I can't respect him for.

Comparing career averages is pointless just like the rings, and blah blah blah.... Why? Because some players can just imrove, and they might have low numbers earlier in their career, but kick it up and then now they are that good. Like Kob' might now have kicked it up and be a 38% or 37% or more shooter from dowtown. Yes! get League pass if u can --> and just watch 5 Laker games and watch Kobe only. He plays D, and O all out. He gives it his all. Shaq isn't there for him, shaq is just another person in his way from droppin 50. when Shaq kicks it out, notice Kobe is usually on the other side of the court, and D. Fish is launghing the three, or swinging it to Kobe, where NOW Defenses concentrae pretty hard on.
If we want to talk bout T-mac in Orlando:
Lets stick Kob' in Orlando with that team...Cause Lakers withot Shaq r definately not doing anything, just look at what Kobe has to work wth. I think T-mac has more to help him out. Plus remember when Kobe lead the team they had a bad record, but i remember them playing kings, Spurs, and Portland---and if we agve Kobe time to figure te system being the MAN maybe he could have taken them further especially if they were in the East. Plus Kobe put up some serios numbers alone.
bout VC: He is a great player, and he still will be. if not his year ---he will break out for 30+ ppg one year. But I still don't think he will ever reach where Kob' or t-mac is. Cause those two will improve while VC will, and VC just fell behind too much.

but who knows, maybe these recent injuries, and trials and all this other bullshit might slow Kobe's progress too.
