He was originally on the Celtics, but they released him in after summer league because they thought he was shit...man he has ups though.

NBAdraft.net compared him to Tracy McGrady coming out of high school... that hasn't really gone to plan though.

this is all LB.....he signs long term deals, quits before they end and rakes in the money on the remainder.

When he signed with Detroit, everyone knew it wasn't going to for the full 5 years, but that's the price you pay when you want Brown. Too bad Isaih is paying him 10mill/yr.

NEW YORK -- The New York Knicks took out an insurance policy on Larry Brown's contract that would free the team from paying the remainder of the coach's contract if he's forced to resign due to health issues, the New York Daily News reported Monday.

The newspaper, citing an anonymous league source, reported that the Knicks made the move when Brown signed his record five-year, $50 million contract. The newspaper also said the contract would not prevent Brown from taking another NBA or college job if he and the Knicks part ways.

Brown won't coach the team's final two games because of acid reflux, ESPN's Jim Gray has learned. The Knicks finish their season with games Monday at home against Charlotte and at New Jersey on Wednesday.

The 65-year-old Brown didn't travel to Detroit, where the Knicks lost 103-97 on Sunday. He was hospitalized Thursday night in Cleveland with a stomach ailment after becoming ill during the Knicks' 91-87 loss to the Cavaliers. He returned home Friday, but assistant coach Herb Williams ran the team in a 97-80 loss to Milwaukee.

Williams said he spoke to Brown during the past few days and said he sounded "OK."

The Knicks are 22-58, the worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

i guess the knicks are safe due to insurance if he has to resign

It's time to go. Sticking around and sorting out Isiah's mess during the off-season and coaching next year ain't gonna help. LB should go to another team preferably not rebuilding and coach or take a lesser role or just retire. Hope all goes well for him.

But if Brown goes, that means Marbury stays and Isiah will have a bigger role in personnel moves. Either way, Knicks will suck. Isiah & Dolan really f-d this team over. Sh!t.
