Superstars and Reserve Players - Who is luckier?

Overall, I'd say the superstar is still the luckier individual since they possess more skill and talent, secure a better financial future and get most of the credit when things are going well.

I'd rather have a couple of rings on my fingers, instead of telling everyone that i scored 40 points last night!

At no point did I mention anything about bragging or scoring a lot of points. As I went on to say, perhaps former players like Stockton, Malone, Barkley and Ewing have a different perspective having actually gone through stellar NBA careers and have resumes that have pretty much everything but a championship, but they are still considered outstanding players. Karl Malone is still often thought of as being the top power forward in history ahead of other great players at his position who have rings.

And I said, they often also have the good fortune of possessing natural talent and skills other players could only dream of possessing, sign bigger contracts and make a bigger mark on the history of the sport. I'd be content to be a role player on a championship team, but I still think in many ways superstars - championship ring or no championship ring - are the luckier individuals.

I would rather be a reserve player like a Robert Horry or to greater extent a Kevin McHale. I don't want to be a superstar and go through my retired life wondering the what could have been scenarios in my career.
