Do you think GP will re-sign with Bucks?

I have no idea if he's becoming an FA this off-season but I'm hoping he goes back to Seattle if possible. That would make them a better team because now they have Brent Barry, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Gary Payton.

GP's my favorite player and I just want him to sign with a contender this summer. Maybe the Spurs. I thnk that he could be the missing link to the Pacers offense(he was almost traded there before the deadline).

He has plans moving back to Oakland with his family and friends. So Golden State is the best option

That would also be a good option. The Warriors, with the addition of Payton, would have some good veteran leadership and a point guard, since Arenas is likely leaving. He could turn that team around, and provide what they need to get into the playoffs.

I dont see him going to G.S or Indiana, however I think there is a chance he signs with the Lakers or T'Wolves this summer or just resigns with the Bucks, with Indiana it would have to be a sign and trade deal because they want to keep O'neal unless they sign O'neal and then use the money from Brad Miller to get Payton.

Maybe. I just saw the Pacers rumor in insidehoops.com. That's why I thought so. After Hudson's performance in the playoffs, I don't think they'll be going signing a better point guard. I don't like the Lakers but that is a possibility.

GP has also connections to Oregon (college), so perhaps the Blazers are an option. With Pippen likely looking to move on and Damon Stoudamire not always considered a vital piece of the proverbial puzzle, GP might somehow return to the Pacific Northwest.

He could very well re-sign with the Bucks, but he hasn't exactly given them a strong endorsement (that quote along the lines of "it's not a prison sentence").

i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in indiana. indiana does have surplus talent to give up and i don't see milwaukee letting GP get away for nothing

I expected him to come to bay area b4 past all star break, after he didnt I dont think he'll arrive next offseason, he's still looking for the ring and prolly will invest at least one more season with a contender, and then yeah come to Oaktown to guide -and play as sub- a young PG, hopefully Gilbert.
Would be a dream if we can have both GA and GP in 03/04, might bring some playtime probs but would be neat to have a Arenas/Payton/Richardson rotation.

That's if Arenas stays. I would hate to see GP end his career as a sub. He's gone all these years and is still the second best PG, if not the best, in the league. He's better than coming off the bench.

Well the Spurs might have some cap space this offseason, and are looking good in the playoffs so far with a not so spectacular team.
Here's a crazy idea, go after Payton even if they have to sign and trade for him. Payton is good for 3+ solid seasons, and putting him together with Timmy-D = championship contedenders for 3 + seasons. If Payton wants to walk, Milwuakee will have to listen to any offers. With the exception of George Karl, I don't think Payton has any real ties to Milwuakee, so he'll have no problem breaking their back if he has to.

Tony Parker is young and developing, and Tim Duncan is in his prime. I would work out a trade involving Payton and Parker if they can't simply sign Payton as a FA. Other players would have to be thrown in, and I dunno how it would work with the contracts but I know the Bucks were interested in moving Tim Thomas...

The Spurs would have to hold on to Duncan, Malik Rose, Bruce Bowen, and Speedy Claxton who is also a young guard, and could develop behind GP. I know giving up Parker might sound crazy, but it might give the Spurs a legitimate chance to win the Championship for possibly the next three years and they wouldn't have to wait for Parker. Payton would eventually step down (and his salary would be gone too), and they would still have a fairly young team lead by Speedy Claxton...

Timmy-D
Malik Rose
Tim Thomas?
Bruce Bowen/Desmond Mason (instead of Tim Thomas)
GP/Speedy

I dunno, it's late, I should go to bed. I'd make this move on Live
