Paul Silas was fired as coach of the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday after five seasons in which he set the franchise record for victories

Another Article.
This surprised me, I was not expecting him to be fired. New Orleans just played a great series even with the injuries to Baron and Jamal.

that sucks
just coz they didnt get past the 1st rnd!!
man they had injuries
Silas is a great coach and he'll be gettin a few other job offers soon
prolly the Cavs :D

I think there were rumours that Silas would not return next season earlier this year. I guess this was just a convenient excuse for the Hornets to part ways with him.

I think it's quite funny. The team obviously needed a new coach though...one man can only take them so far.

This might be premature and crazy, but I'd sacrafice Jimmy O'Brien and that crazy three-ball offense for Silas, who played for and won NBA Titles with the Celtics. Not going to happen, O'Brien is Irish you know.

If the Celtics don't make it past the second round, it might be time to consider a coach who won't be so leniant on all the three point attempts. After his fairly successful stint with the Hornets, he'll probably be in consideration for a few coaching jobs (Raptors, Clippers, the new Charlotte team if he wants to sit out a year to name just a few).
