i dont know whats it is about me but i love to disscuss players... anyway
VC
personaly i think hes the most unconsistant player with his talent... the media was saying hes the next MJ, what a lod of bull.... but on the other hand look at this
out of Collage
6'6
great verticle
strong
bullky
can score, rebound, block

when Mj came out he was still 6'6 but
no where near as stron, bulky
couldnt shoot well
all he could do was dunk big

u can argue that VC was injured alot and needs time... so was MJ he was injured for almost a full season, he came back and what did he do??? he went for 37 ppg!!!!!

ask me... but the next so called MJ will not be someone the media will find!!!

he probably could be but his situation makes him unable to be.
First off he just came off injury wait till next season to find out what happens
His team has nothing to win for, they r out of the playoffs
he has tons of good players on his team that can shoot
plus back when michael jordan scored 37ppg it was easier to do because the games were much higher scoring and there was less defence

But I think Vince Should shoot more and be more aggressive because he is good at it.

The guy is shooting but he has teammates and I don't think he wants to get injured again for being that aggressive.

Anyway, what make you guys think anybody wants to be the next Jordan?, don't you realize they want to be themselves? Everytime you or the press try to make them look like that, will get disappointed. Vince doesn't need or want to be the next Jordan when he can be the only Vince Carter. Players work on their game hard not to be the next someone else, they are getting their own stuff, too bad Vince got injured but still he can do much.

I agree..
He's actually playing better IMHO. So what if he doesn't slash to the basket as much..it's better to stay healthy than to dunk wildly for 2 games and get KO'd again. And despite my personal dislike for him..i must say his D has improved.

True, but I think it's just a catchy label so ppl pay attention to them...not that they want to be exactly like jordan necessarily..but just in terms of being a great player..they normally just generalize and call them "the Next Jordan"...but I agree..the media labels every new star the next jordan w/o even thinking what it really means.

Oh did anybody read a/b what Jordan said a/b LeBron James??..Ouch...although i completely agree with his comments..let's see if he can prove him wrong next year.

I think we should basically write off this season for Vince, just as most people do for MJ's second season (the year he missed 64 games with a broken foot). Vince is taking 4 fewer shots per game than in previous seasons - he's had some sub-standard games getting back into sync and taking it a little easier than normal as not to risk re-injury.

Provided he does not injure himself during the offseason/pre-season/early next season, I believe he'll be at or near the level he was a couple of years ago. It wouldn't be the first time a player has had a couple of injury plagued seasons before bouncing back and regaining his former status.

He's got 17 in the first quarter...this could be a huge game for him. It also looks like he's getting the officials' respect back. He's been to the line quite a few times so far.

I guess I jinxed him. He slowed down considerably, finishing with 28 on 10 for 25 shooting and injured his ankle. That could be a bright spot though as it allows the Raps to lose some more games and improve their draft pick.

Dammit fragile Vince Carter, I'm trying to be his fan but he keeps breaking.
ESPN wrote:TORONTO -- Vince Carter will probably miss the last six games of the season after spraining his ankle in the final minute of Toronto's game against the New Jersey Nets on Sunday.

Carter will "most likely miss'' the remainder of the season, Raptors spokesman Jim LaBumbard said.

Carter landed hard on his ankle after taking a shot over Richard Jefferson with 31 seconds remaining in the Raptors' 96-87 loss to the Nets. He was helped to the locker room. X-rays of the ankle were negative.

The All-Star guard missed 23 games earlier this season with a strained right knee. He also missed 10 games with a left knee injury.

Ankle injuries are fairly common in basketball though, given the nature of the game. As I said, this season can already be written off as one of Vince's less spectacular.

But if he's injured again next year...I feel that Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill will have a new member in their club. :?

Before Carter's knee injury he had never had any significant injury, but everyone is calling him glass. Jordan was injured through pretty much his entire 2nd season did everybody call him glass after that?

If any of you have ever landed on someone elses foot after a high jump (remember, Carter has probably twice the vertical of anyone on this board, if it's less ok but still significantly higher) and sprained an ankle you know that can definately hurt a lot. It's easy to heal, but you shouldn't rush it and definately not when you're the most important player on a team that has nothing to win anyway this season.
I once sprained my ankle during a game when I just had to make a real quick turn and it kept me from playing for two months. Now I don't have professional help for recovery and stuff, and it all depends on the severity, but just to give an example.

but next year he may. Don't jump to any conclusions yet, now that the knee looks best like before, VC still might have some major game like before. the ankle is moinor, and he'll forget about it when he sees Kobe taking the Lakers to a 4th title

Remember that season after the Olympics, right before he hurt his knee he was gettin 33.4 ppg on like 46/47% shootin and 3pt 41%. Along wit like 4/5 reb. 3 asst. and 1.7stl.

Vince had one of the best first quaters I saw this season the game he injured his ankle. He was showing definate signs of what he is capable of doing.
He was taking it to the basket almost every time he touched the ball. He was getting to the line and set a season high in free throw attempts. He had a few nice layups and dunks also.
Ankle injuries are not as severe as his knee injury so I wouldn't be to worroed about it.

I don't call anyone glass but I know that it's human to be more careful once you come from an injury. Those players don't do the same stuff they used to until they find out they are 100% from that injury. Dominique came back from an injury as well, and the guy even learned to shoot from outside, It's not that they are glass or that they are not that good, but once you have an injury, you don't want to get back there with the same problem.
