Most improved player?

Who would you vote for most improved player?
Do you think that the Grizzlies' Jason Williams should get some consideration? Although his stat's arent improved from last year, he has really become a TRUE point guard, turning the ball over much less and leading the league in A/TO ratio.
He is one of the best floor leaders in the league this season, so is that enough to merit him the MIP award?
If not, who would you vote for to get the award.

I like the change in Jason Williams game this year, Hubie has done a great job. I don't think he will get the most improved award because its more of a change in the way he plays rather than skill or stat improvement. I think guys like Troy Murphy or maybe Joe Johnson might win it. But my favourite to win it is Gilbert Arenas. He has been playing great ball this year and is the Warriors best player. He had a 40 point game today and I'd say it won't be his last.

not only his stats improves this season, but also he's becoming one of the leaders of the spurs

Based on past years, I too think that the MIP award will go to someone with significant statistical improvement. Therefore, my top three candidates are Gilbert Arenas, Ricky Davis and Troy Murphy. I would pick Davis as my favourite out of those three, but it's rare for guys from bottom of the league teams to win regular season awards, even the MIP.

ummm i think troy murphy and gilbert arenas have a huge chance coz of there teams turnaround (bout time warriors starting winning)

Rick Brunson with the Bulls.... he has doubled his scoring average exactly this season, shot 50% from the field in comparison to 39% or 40% last season, and shot 67% percent from downtown. He also almost doubled his steals, made an improvement on his assist output and only comitted .1 more turnovers per game. Truly the MIP this season, and hell just look what the Bulls have done this season and how well they've turned it around with Brunson riding the be... errr.. leading the way! 30 wins could be a reality folks, and it is times like these that I'm proud to say "Go Bulls", and "Go Rick 'Chicago is a walk in the park compared to Portland' Brunson".
Rick Brunson really is something special folks, and yes I am one of those proud (semi) Australians that can say "Hey, I saw Rick Brunson light up the NBL" all those years ago when he donned the Brisbane Bullets Uniform. Wasn't that the days when the Bullets had blue shorts with those white singlets? That's like my tuesday night league... cheap bastards. Anyway, back to Rick. Rick like many Americans (that word sounds dirty these days) played some good ball in the NBL, and if I remember correctly, he dunked on someone switching hands in mid air or something to that extent, but I could be wrong. Rick was so slick he went to the Knicks, and BANG! The Knicks went to the Finals. Well hopefully he was with the KNicks that seasons who can remember... what with MJ retiring and all, did anyone even pay attention that *year? I wish I had paid attention because channel 10, those religion tv showing gerbals cut basketball from our screens.
You know who Rick Brunson looks like... the security guard out of "White Men Can't Jump"... you know that guy that kisses Billy Hoil and says "Go back to see world" - yeah that guy. Was that possibly Rick in that movie? That would have just been another stepping stone towards winning the MIP with the 2003 Chicago Bulls... I hope Rick returns to the Bulls next season, so they keep pace with the elite teams of the NBA... The Miami Heats and Cleveland Cavaliers of the world.

ok but seriously seriously, Zydrunas Ilgauskas should be considered, and not only because he's played all season long, but because he improved from 11.1 ppg to 17.4 ppg, +2.2 rebounds... the Cavs suck donkey balls but what can you do!

Dr Jack Ramsey's chat wrap on ESPN shows him saying that his vote is going to Jason Williams. He says the reason for this is because this season jason is playing his best ball, and that resulted in franchise record wins for the grizz. He said although jason's stats arent improved, it's how he impacts the team.

I think Troy has good chances as no one imagined him to do this and hold the starting spot against Fortson-Dunleavy-Mills, those who watched Arenas late past year did imagine that he could do sumthing like what hes doing now.

Maybe not give him the award but...Eddy Curry should be mentioned. He leads the league in ppg deference since the AS break. Before he avereged 6 points but since the break hes averaging 15 points and even scored 30 a few games ago. He's starting to make the Shaq comparisons a bit more believable.
