If the East sucked now, the new Nets could be worse than the old team but the best in the current East.

The Nets e-mailed their fans a few minutes ago to announce that they have GOT REEF.

He's agreeing to sign for the Nets' mid-level exception, so there will be no sign and trade.

ESPN will probably have more details soon.

that's awesome... exactly what the Nets needed.. depth in the PF position. They've been shooting blanks since Kenyon Martin left.. great acquisition (Y)
Preparation will only take you so far. After that you've got to take a few leaps of faith.

depth in the PF position.

depth is what they don't have. Who's going to back up Nenad and Reef. Collins alone? They need veteran role-players for their bench.

if they manage to push through the TE they can use the MLE to get cliff back into the fold, as well as keyon dooling..

the team is going to have problems going to the bench.. it's all about how they manage playing time.. if they play it smart and have 2 man rotations making sure to keep atleast 2 of sar/jefferson/vc/kidd on the floor at any given time (and all 4 when it counts) then they should be fine.. the lack of depth will stretch them thin, there's no way of getting around it.. and if they have any injury concerns then they'll take a major hit.. but if they're healthy, they've gel'd (they have kidd running the show so there's no reason why they shouldnt), and they get reasonably seeded, then come playoff time this team is going ECF or further
